I remember this used to be the Tally-Ho Motor Lodge in my youth, long since rebranded as a Days Inn (Wyndham) property.
Top floor room, building and rooms showing their age. I was told that the first floor rooms are remodeled and more modern but didn't have one of those.
It was a serviceable room, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker with supplies. A little short on towels and toiletries, we asked for more towels on day 2 no problem. Note that it is full size beds, not queens, but we knew this, which leads to the main issue we had at this hotel.
Breakfast was numerous grab and go items, but the breakfast room is nice and the lady who runs the breakfast room was super nice and helpful. I think she is related to the owner/GM.
The service rating is low because the night manager almost got physical with me when I asked for additional blankets. We got back late from seeing family and the lobby is locked (intercom access) after 10pm. Fine, okay, it's not a bad neighborhood, but I won't argue with security.
I asked for additional sheets and blankets. He brought me additional sheets and told me there were no blankets. When I incredulously asked how the hotel could have no blankets left, he told me he wasn't housekeeping, and that he wouldn't have let me into the lobby if he had known I was going to be smart with him, and that if I was dissatisfied, he would cancel my reservation (it's around midnight at this point, FYI).
I told all this to the day manager who promised to talk with him, and informed me that the management has no access to the linens after housekeeping leaves for the day...seems like a bad plan to me, as guests have needs throughout the day, not just 9-5. Good thing I didn't ask him for the extra towels, I might have gotten laid out. Further, how did he get the sheets if there's no access to the linens? Anyway probably won't stay here again, but it is one of the cheaper hotels...
Read moreOkay, so there's positives & negatives about this hotel. They obviously did their best to renovate the room to look more modern, minus the bathroom. That needs to be renovated from the framework (I'm my opinion...maybe they can call up Luciano Russo and hire him to update them?)
The beds (we already slept in them, I just did a quick fix) are comfy, but fyi if you are short (like myself at 5'2") you need to jump up to get onto the bed. Not necessarily a negative for the beds height, however just make note that if you're a shortie that you'll face a little difficulty getting up. And since I'm being elaborate in my description I will note that the bedding had stains on it--not that they weren't clean, just stained. And I took my socks off and the floors are very obviously not washed...my feet ended up being black from the dirt on the floor. And we did not wear our shoes in the room so it wasn't from us.
There were travel sized Sage & Lemongrass BODY Soaps (2), and a single of each: Lotion, Shampoo, & Conditioner. For some reason there wasn't hand soap available, so we used one of the body soaps to wash our hands.
The combo Air Conditioner/Heater needs to be replaced. It was loud, and despite our attempts to cool the room off by putting it on ac (cool setting) it still didn't function quite right.
But we stayed here to basically crash for the night, so even though it was perfect, it was relatively inexpensive, the beds were remarkably comfy. Would I stay here again? Probably not unless the hotel makes changes to their cleaning process and the bathrooms are updated.
This might be my most brutal review but businesses cannot improve unless they hear the honest truth. And this is not to reflect any other Days Inn by Wyndham but simply the specific one located in...
Read moreBooked earlier this month, we reached around 10 pm due to traffic, the front desk couldn't get our booking through Expedia for some reason and we had to cancel re-book through the hotel. I paid for a king size room and the room was not cleaned prior. I took pictures immediately because I couldn't believe it. The bed was not made, the tub was filthy with hair and the sink had coffee grains, the iron board was filthy. Some towels seemed used and dirty.
The water pressure was also very weak. I went downstairs to inform them, they said there was nothing they could do because they didn't have another room, Lakiah called housekeeping and some guy said he wasn't available and we'd have to do it ourselves. Front desk handed me a manager's card and she handed me a fitted sheet, 2 cover sheets and 3 pillow cases and some towels. I couldn't change our bedding properly because of the size wasn't fitting so I covered it with the smaller sheets.
Fast forward to the morning, we went down to get coffee and it was empty some guy with low cut blonde hair that answered "coffee is done". When we asked if we could get more he said "no that's it" His attitude was disgusting he acted like we were disturbing him, he immediately proceeded to ask us what room number we were in instead of seeing about the coffee. All that was left was milk and cereal by the way, management was of no help. This was my worst stay in a very long time. Completely unacceptable smh. The bed was the only comfortable thing, Not coming...
