Metro Diner — Restaurant in Chadds Ford Township

It may have been an off-day but we had a pretty mediocre experience and the people next to us had it a lot worse. We went in and were told it would be a 30 minute wait. We were seated on the patio under a blasting heater after only 10. (They did turn the heaters off after we asked but then it was too cold, so not the most pleasant temperature wise.) It took 10 minutes after being seated to see a server and then our food took 40 minutes after that. We ordered pancakes and waffles, so nothing was complicated. We did note all of the take out orders rolling out the door, which actually made it more frustrating since those seemed to be the focus and not the customers in the restaurant. When we go the food, my wife's waffle was missing the strawberries listed on the menu, which we only discovered they were out of after trying to send it back, and there was no substitute fruit provided. My pancakes were a special with pulled pork and that tasted like it came from a can. The pork had no flavor, was overcooked, and the barbecue sauce was so salty that I basically ended up just eating around it. And then it took another 25 minutes to get our check and leave. (With some time to eat, it took us over 90 minutes to eat breakfast with only 10 minutes spent waiting for our table, which is absurd.) We were there with a coupon and may give it another try if we get another great coupon since it was a pretty cheap meal but it's unlikely I'll go back by choice. We had it lucky, though, because the family behind us waited over an hour for their food and parts of it were so overcooked they were completely inedible. The manager gave them a free meal, but it doesn't give me a lot of faith in their standards...

Hello Google Family. My beautiful sister friend, Wanda, and I visited The Metro Diner for our monthly ministry fellowship breakfast in Wilmington, De. There are many Metro Diners locations. There is one in Bensalem, Langhorne, Newark, DE, Middletown, DE, North Wales, PA and Pottstown, PA. Wanda ordered a Waffle with blueberries, I had silver dollar pancakes with scrapple. Check out the photos to see the prices of everything. The food and fellowship was outstanding. Our server, Darryl, was wonderful. On the ball, always going above and beyond. Darryl or D, as he is called here, was accommodating to our every need. A phenomenal server, Darryl is. D should receive a bonus on his next payday. I gave Darryl my business card and asked him to follow me on Facebook and Instagram. D told Wanda and me about the Fetch app, which is an app that rewards a person who collects receipts and they can receive rewards like gift cards. We visited the restroom. Nice and clean. The restaurant was crowded when we arrived on this Saturday, February 19th. And when we left, it was still people waiting to be served. Get on the wait-list, we did and we were served as soon as we arrived. I will definitely return. Wanda and I explored Concord Mall when we finished our meal. Darryl had told us about a logo place in the mall, that I wanted to check out since I have a brand, Krystique. Our visit at The Metro Diner in Wilmington was a delightful experience and we will return soon. Also the young lady who told us about the Fetch app was a delight as well as the young man...

Our Server Nakeema was great! Nakeema had a bright smile the moment she stepped to our table. The service was terrific, the food was great! My salad was phenomenal I almost ordered another one togo! The toppings were fresh!!!! I could sit there and eat the cucumbers all day if I didn’t have errands to run. The ambiance was something you’d love to walk into during a Saturday afternoon after working 9-5 Monday through Friday and you’re drained from the work week. Noise level minimal, the music was pretty chill. The cooks were working efficiently, the servers were helping each other run food to all of the tables. As a former manager at a restaurant of 6 years it felt great to be at a place so well put together. I will recommend my family and friends that live close by to stop in for great service and wonderfully well put together food.
