Went here for $2 tacos (happy hour prices) ended up ordering 2 of the tacos and what was supposed to be a $3 quesadilla. When ordering I was asked if I wanted sour cream and I said yes. I was not told the sour cream would cost me. Food gets to the table and what was my tacos was given to my friend (she ordered two chicken I ordered a chicken and a beef). We told the waitress I was missing my beef taco. My friend starts to eat and realizes the mistake so we told the waitress we actually needed another chicken taco. Not much later a chef comes out with 2 tacos, a chicken and a beef. My friend took her chicken taco and we told the chef we didn't need the other taco as it was a mistake and he just kinda stood there til we accepted it. Bill comes at the end of the meal, we are charged for the extra taco we didn't need, $2 for each little container of sour cream (1 for me 1 for my friend) which is absolutely ridiculous and again I was not told I would be charged any amount for and my $3 quesadilla was $5 because I got chicken in it. The happy hour pricing said nothing of which quesadilla was $3 and the waitress apparently didn't know either since when I ordered I said the $3 happy hour quesadilla and she asked me what kind, cheese, chicken, beef. I asked her about it and she asked a manager I guess and told me it was because I got chicken in it and didn't fix the price even though it was her mistake. I'm so disappointed in this experience. I like many others am on a budget. I know exactly how much money I had to spend and leave for a tip and ordered accordingly. Not sure if I'll go back...
Read moreI have been eating Mexican food for over 45 years. California, Texas and Arizona mostly. Quite a few times every month or so in the Kennet Square area "mom and pop" Mexican restaurants.
Food was very bland. Soggy like it was microwaved. Tamales were wet and mushy and bland. The pork filling did not have any spices or flavoring. Enchiladas were again wet and mushy and chicken and pork filling was just plain, no spices. Almost like the food was frozen and microwaved.
Crispy taco were only passable. The rice was a slight shade of red and very dry without flavor of any kind. I never had such bland, unseasoned Mexican rice in my life.
There were three of us eating different entrees. All agreed that the food was almost A chore to eat. Each plate had less than half of the food eaten. We did not ask for doggie bags.
I am surprised to see so many high ratings for this restaurant. Maybe some people do not know what real Mexican...
Read moreI went here for the first time and my visit was ambivalent at best. My server, Jack was fabulous and he was personable and knowledgeable about the menu. Unfortunately, the food was just pedestrian and mainly Americanized Mexican food. The ground beef burrito was covered with Cheese but lacked in flavor but the carnitas enchiladas were also covered with cheese and had much more taste. They did provide chips and salsa but the refried beans lacked cheese and the rice was so so.
This restaurant also lacks two of my favorites, carne asada and chorizo. Most people in this area have never heard of these meats so they can get away without offering this on the menu. I loved their inflation menu for lunch so it is more palatable.
I might visit this restaurant again but I think you can find more authentic food...
