I like writing good reviews for good service and food but every once in a while the situation calls for the ugly truth. My husband and I went to the Shrimp Shack on Blanding Monday night. We placed an order for food and one of the items was the 30 piece shrimp tossed in Bam. Of course there is an upcharge to have it tossed in the Bam. Upon leaving we were walking out the door and were called back because they wanted to double check we had all of our items. Sure enough they were missing a meal. They added the meal and off we went. We arrived home 20 minutes later opened our containers and there was no Bam on the shrimp. I reviewed my receipt which included the upcharge for Bam. I called the store and waited on hold for 5 minutes no one picked up the phone. (My guess is because it was close to closing time). I called again and after the prompts spoke to I believe Marge or Margie. I apologize if the name is wrong because the next comment from this person sent me over the edge. She asked that I send a picture of the shrimp to prove there was no Bam. Now my husband had started to eat because he was hungry but I took a picture of the shrimp. I sent the picture and waited for the young lady to plug in her phone because the battery was dying and she could not view the picture. After a few minutes she came back and said she is sure the order had Bam on it and we must have eaten the shrimp on the top with the Bam. I could not have been more insulted at this remark. We offered to go back to the store and bring the food but they of course were close to closing. We were told the GM will need to view the footage to determine if the order did indeed have Bam on it. We both stopped eating our food and packed it up. We will be there in the morning with all of the food and containers from our order to meet with the GM. I can not believe we were even asked to send the picture and then we're accused of lying and eating the Bam off the top. It will be interesting to see how the GM handles this situation. We may have to look for another place to replace Shrimp Shack. I hope they do the right thing when they see there is no indication at all of there being Bam sauce on the shrimp, the food container or the paper liner in which the shrimp was on.
UPDATE - Upon return to the store an apology was given to us and an offer to remake our entire food order at no charge. Review being changed from 1 - 4. My family does enjoy the food and we look forward to better service...
Read moreI don't know what type of restaurant gets on to their employees how about making a customer happy but apparently this is one of those places. When this place first open I used to order here all the time like literally wants a week to once every other week we would order multiple of The platters for 2 and would get it blacken on the fish and things that could be blocking and then everything else fry. So to my reluctancy we were looking to eat some seafood today and decided to stop at Shrimp Shack to eat because our other options were not working out for us. I asked the cashier if I could get a fighter with it black and she said yes but it would be an extra charge I was super surprised and excited to hear they would let me do it did not care about the extra charge at all she told me it was only a dollar but I would have paid much more to do it. After eating I went up and asked how long they went back to doing it the old way like when they first open. In that same cashier informed me that she was talk to about doing that and that they actually aren't supposed to do it. So basically from what I got from all this is that ate employee did something so I mean to be a happy customer and he gave me exactly what I want to even though I had to pay more it was what I wanted and she got in trouble for it is this the type of place that gets their employees in trouble for doing what a customer wants this is not the type of place I want to eat at. Shrimp Shack owner or manager feel free to write me back through Google reviews and let me know when you guys will change your policies. And if you are the owner you might want to let this cashier that help me out today run your store cuz she's obviously running it a lot better than any of the other people their managers included. Read moreThe problem has always been the service. I've never taken the time to write a review because we really like the place. Today took the cake though. We ordered the catfish and shrimp combo and asked for grilled shrimp and fried catfish. In which the cashier did not object. It wasn't until the same cashier brought our food out that everything was grilled and I told her what it was supposed to be, she said your right, I'm sorry I'll fix it. TWO seconds later the manager brings the same plate out asking what the problem was and that it all has to be the same (all fried or grilled). Ma'am YOUR cashier failed to explain that. She asked how I wanted the shrimp and I asked for grilled, she then asked about the catfish explaining to me that it's 4 pieces of fried because they are cut in half versus if grilled it'll be 2 full filets!! I choose fried and paid. Instead of trying to remedy the very small problem the manager took me back to the register where she THREW the entire plate in the TRASH and made a face a comment to the kitchen and the ln proceeded to change me more to fix THEIR mistake! Where do they do that at!! So Instead, I choose to just get the fried catfish under favorites for my son and cancel the additional side of shrimp.
