This place is disappointing and nothing special even it has a view... It's not what I expected unlike the other Skydome or Sky Lounges that I had been too...The place is small and congested... As you enter there was right away the bar in the right side and tables right away where there was not much space to walk to the table...So I took my brother here for his birthday dinner and first if all I call to make a reservation but they will drect you to their online reservation. So I made an 8:30 reservation and I specially put in a note I needed a very very nice window seat as this is a special birthday evening for my brother. When we get to the place we had to wait for five minutes for the receptionist as there was no one by the front desk to greet the incoming customers. So after five minutes of waiting this grumpy men came to us and I said we had 8:30 reservation and it is now 8:35. Then he looked got my name in the reservation and then he said we had to wait 40 mins. for our table. I told him i had made the reservation for 8:30 earlier in the day and why do we have to wait for 40 mins? Then he said that if I wanted that window seat I reserve I have to wait 40 mins. Am like what??? I made that reservation earlier in the day and it is an special occasion as it's my brother birthday and now you want us to wait for minutes to get the seat we want???So anyways he said if I don't want to wait we can seat not by the window. So I just had to take it s we are so very hungry. So we seated and there's not even a table cloth in their table and the table is sticky. Their chair is a metal frame with vinyl cushion (where in the chairs they used at the food court at the malls is much better than their chair at the Skydome)...I said to myself maybe the food is good so it will not matter time even we didn't get that table I reserve... but eventhen we got more disappointed with the food...So, we started with appetizer and we had the fried brussel sprouts which is ok but some parts are burned so there's a bitterness taste in it... and we had the crab in a potato and its ok but it's oily...For my soup, I ordered a sweet potato crab soup and it is cold and it is like a gerber baby food and there was no flavor and taste. Then for my main course I ordered a steelhead trout and it is cold in the middle and so sour... My brother ordered a Kobe Burger and it is dry and no taste and he had to return and not eat it at all. My husband ordered a steak and it had no flavor and dry...So we tried their desert and we had tiramisu and it is watery at the bottom and the tiramisu is lumpy and they put this horrible strawberry like jam on top of tiramisu just to make a design. I ordered coffee and I had to return it as it is not cold so I expect the server would give me a fresh coffee instead he just reheated my coffee in the microwave...After, I went to the bathroom and there was a diaper on the floor and toilet paper in the floor. I ended up not using the toilet that I had to wait until go down the hotel lobby to used the hotel toilet. I do not recommend this place as for the price that I paid it is not worth it plus the place needed to be updated as if you are gonna have a Skydome restaurant you should had a very very nice upscale restaurant as you represent the city as well...I would not come back here as even the view is not worth for me as it is not a full view you are gonna get and it is not a romantic...
Read moreMy drive from Maryland to get here was a little frazzled with the construction thats occurring. The experience was a delightful experience and I would recommend that anyone visiting or locals go here at least once. We had a 7:30pm reservation. The views, atmosphere, and food are well worth the cost. I had family in from Florida and this was their last night🌙. There were fabulous views of the Washington Monument (Pencil) and Capitol were fabulous. We all enjoyed seeing sights in VA and DC. One of the sights I so enjoyed was seeing ✈️ airplanes appear to fly in front of the Pencil. Wow The atmosphere is high end but not stuffy. We enjoyed the views and were able to talk about the good old days and how much DC has changed, while still being able to have fun picking out the local land marks. 😀 The 🍽 dinner was very good. The higher the cost of the food, the higher my expectations are. My only concern was that I ordered the shrimp and spinach and both were lacking. There were only three small shrimp and very little spinach. There were big pieces of broccoli. The sauce was really good. My salad was good. The appetizer were both good. The crab dip was more cheese than crab, however it had a good taste. Being from Maryland we take pride in all things crab 🦀. I don't believe tourist would notice. My cousin ordered the steak and it was fabulous. The steak has a mouth watering flavor and was so tender. I never order steak when I'm out, because I have very high expectations. If I ever go back, I will definitely be ordering the steak. Everyone else enjoyed their meals from the chicken to the burgers. Our waiter was very nice and responsive. He always followed up when asked for something. There were six in out party and I believe he forgot about the two of us that were at the end of the table. We had ro ask for refills. We had to ask for to go go boxes. We all had to ask about parking validation. Then I had ro ask as he only took one couples ticket. I wish he would have talked about the rotating floor. Again he was very nice and responsive. Be sure to take your parking ticket with you as they do validate, otherwise it's $25. The bathroom is unisex with two urinals and one stull. It reminds me of cruise ships bathrooms. 🚢 I am extremely thankful that there is a lock to the outer door. We all had a great time. It was worth the drive and dealing with all of the construction. We left with very great memories of spending time together, good food, and...
Read moreLast night, me and my family of four (2 children). Dined at Skydome restaurant in Arlington VA for the first time I made reservations a month out because that was the next available time slot. So we went there for a little late Father’s Day dinner. It was a cute restaurant you do have to park in the parking garage of the hotel go upone elevator and then another to get to the restaurant the restaurant isn’t that big as roughly around maybe 20-30 tables and a small bar that looks to seat about four or five people. Our reservation was made for Tuesday, June 20 at 7:30 PM. We arrived at exactly 7:28pm the host, greeted us immediately and was ready to seat us immediately upon arrival I did have to ask him to double check for a window seat because even if you make reservations and ask for window seat, it is first come first serve we were originally told there were no window seats available, but he was kind enough to double check and one was available just needed to be cleaned off. The restaurant itself was pretty cute little intimate spot. The floor did rotate around very slowly not to fast but by the time we finished close to nine we had made it around the restaurant twice I’ve heard a lot of people in the comments, say the place is overrated, I do feel that as well but it was very nice to experience it for the first time I enjoyed the view. My kids really enjoyed watching the planes takeoff from the airport close by very nice and lit up at night.the food is pricey. Wasn’t amazing but wasn’t bad. They don’t have much choices for kids. They offer cheese and pepperoni pizza, and wings that are part of the appetizer. My kids were fine because they enjoy pizza. Price of the pizza was definitely overrated. It was like a small personal pizza with about six slices that was $22 , we did order a few things we got the cheese and charcuterie board, and wings for appetizer. I got a salad w/ chicken my date got pork chops w/ truffle fries and side mashed potatoes.overall was ok. Not sure if we’ll go back. It was a nice first experience, though. I did upload a picture of our check at the end to give you an idea of how their prices look. Please excuse some of the pictures with the view my daughter insisted on...
