Al's Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Coral Gables

I was just reading that this place changed ownership. This explains the downward spiral in the quality of food and lack of service. Food is disgustingly burned, dried, or served cold. I think they keep the rice from one day to the other and serve it cold the following day. I had a tropichop special and the rice was ice cold, beans tasted like vinegar. Asked them to heat it up and I guess the microwave wasn't heating properly because they gave it back to me cold. Today I go to get empanadas for lunch and first there are none available at noon so they fried them, rather they burned them and they were swimming in grease in the brown bag. Disgusting...Their prices have doubled on some items. I always used to order from here but no more. Even if I'm starving I will not be going here. We order our food to be delivered, we order 2 chicken breast and fries,the food took for ever to arrived and they only send one meal,I called them and I told them how unhappy I was because we only have 30 min for lunch the person who answered the phone call the manager and without mutter the phone he told her loud enough, can you talk to this lady she is very rude,as employee he should keep his opinions about his customers for him self ,I had the right to be upset and I really didn't appreciate his comments,Gena took over the call,she was very nice and pleasant even that the food wasn't great I will give it a second chance just because of her,they need to train their employees to be nice to their customers, because even if we are wrong, you have to make us believe that we are...

I just tried to place an order where it states online that it is $8.49 with your choice of fries or rice... Now he totaled it to $13 when the credit card process fee is .50 and free delivery. Now i asked why and he said the fries are an additonal $2.95 which is absurd when its suppose to be included AND MY CO WORKER JUST ORDERED THE SAME THING AND CHARGED HER $9.50 now i removed the fries and my total was still $11.
