I arrived shortly after their stated opening time of 8:00 AM, only to find no one at the front desk. Instead, I was greeted by someone I assume was the cook, who appeared quite confused. It made me question if I had accidentally arrived before opening hours. He mentioned he could prepare my food, but I’d need to wait for someone else to make my coffee and payment.
I offered to leave if it was an inconvenience, but he insisted I stay and assured me the lady would charge me and make the coffee. Feeling awkward, I agreed and ordered an açaí bowl with almond butter. However, he seemed unsure about my order. I sat outside, and he came back to inform me it would be 15 minutes before the other employee arrived. At that point, I decided to leave and headed to another coffee shop nearby—thankfully, Coral Gables has plenty of options, many of which open at 7:00 AM and are fully prepared to serve customers on time.
The experience was disappointing, to say the least. The outdoor seating wasn’t even set up, with tables and seat cushions still in disarray. If a business advertises an opening time of 8:00 AM, it’s important to have staff ready. Customers shouldn’t feel like an inconvenience.
In a competitive area like Miami, where customer service is essential, this kind of disorganization will not help them. Unfortunately, I find it hard to believe this business...
Read moreStopped in with my son one morning because I've never been a fan of that big coffee chain that's everywhere and this place had a few things that piqued my interest. The girl up front recommended the farmer's latte and i opted for oat milk and iced (even thought i usually hate iced coffee) because it was a million degrees outside. WOW. Instant conversion on my part. It was easily the best iced coffee I've ever had in my life and I've been craving it nonstop ever since. My son had a mocha frappe and agreed it was SO much better than that other big chain's fraps. Oh and the little green sauce served with the tequenos? AMAZING. Everyone that tried it when i brought it back to a friend's house was asking "where did you get that?" And honestly, aside from the food, the workers here were just really nice and appreciative that we stopped in. They were lovely. Yes service was slightly slow because they're not a coffee factory like some other places so just plan accordingly. Order ahead or maybe go in when you're not rushing. We all rush too much as it is. Some things are...
Read moreWe finally got in to check out Coffee for the Soul and really enjoyed it.
FOOD They have a full menu and a few grab and go items. I had a chicken empanada which was really good and husband enjoyed his açaí bowl. I do wish they had a few more savory grab and go items. Next time I’d like to try some of the items from their full menu. I got the Farmer’s coffee, it was too sweet for me, but that might be more of a personal choice. They have a lot of coffee options so I’ll try something different next time.
AMBIANCE / VIBE It’s really pretty inside and was quiet enough for working. They also have a few tables with outlets. There are some place to sit and eat outside too, with an umbrella for shade.
SERVICE Diego took good care of us and was friendly. Thanks Diego!
