While visiting Miami with my family, we decided to stop by around 7 PM for a quick bite to eat. This place being one block away from our hotel, seem very appropriate for the occasion.
While the photographs online paint a very different picture to what the location really looked like, that did not deter us from walking away.
Open the door to be greeted by a lady that kept on repeating herself asking in Spanish "Tienes Reserva?" My wife not being fluent in Spanish looked at me, I was disappointed as that she could not ask the same question in English.
Being bilingual I said no we don't we are staying one block away and decided to come visit you (in Spanish of course).
The host decides to call a guy from the back to ask the same question and they both look at us like "how you dare come to my restaurant without reservation"... they look around at the small and EMPTY restaurant, and say if you wait for this family to is their meal we could seat you. In disbelief I look at this EMPTY building and said, this is not the place to be.
I'm not putting this post because I feel insulted, i've had great dining experiences I really exclusive locations. Locations that you knew you need reservations to get in. The rules do not apply when your location resides in a construction zone, and you practically have to dodge boulders sand and barricades to get to your restaurant, in the heart of exquisite cuisine in Coral Gables. This is not the appropriate way to treat guests from out of town. Well understanding that they might have booked the restaurant for and event.
My inspiration for this post, is hoping that management could read this, and save the restaurant from...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. My experience here was nothing short of frustrating, disappointing, and downright unacceptable. From the moment we sat down, service was a disaster. We had to wait an astonishing three hours to receive our food, and in the meantime, we had to repeatedly ask for basic things like water, napkins, and even an update on when our meals would arrive. Our waiter was rude, inattentive, and practically missing in action whenever we needed something. To make matters worse, they charge a cover fee for the musicians, which was never disclosed when we made our reservation. It felt sneaky and dishonest. And speaking of the entertainment—when I asked the server to have the musicians sing Happy Birthday to the birthday girl, he gave them the wrong name! Talk about an awkward and embarrassing moment. As for the food? Completely flavorless, overpriced, and not even close to being worth the wait. At that point, after three hours, I would’ve settled for something decent, but even that was too much to ask. Overall, this was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. If you value your time, money, and sanity, do yourself a favor and avoid this place...
Read moreAs soon as we walked in we knew we would love out here. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming in full of good energy as Sat night was the flamenco show. The tapas was all very good we had several, the shrimp in garlic which was cooked perfectly. A tapas of small sausages *sorry forget all the names. And garbanzo beans in a tomato based sauce, to start. They were all very good and served with a side of bread. At this point I was full but my husband wanted more and I was so glad we ordered more. The super thinly sliced deep fried eggplant drizzled in honey was my favorite 😍 omg loved it. Also patatas brava, and a lightly breaded mahi. I threw in the towel after the eggplant and my husband enjoyed the rest. The flamenco was TREMENDOUS!!!!!! Not only was the dancers amazing the singer was phenomenal. I most definitely will return. Loved our evening and met Karen the owner who was so gracious they gave me slice of the almond cake with a candle and the band sang happy birthday as a couple of is were celebrating. It was a really special night! Thanks to all. And BTW our server I wish I knew her name was so lovely and a...
