I was in Coral Gables for an event so I was excited to try Doc B's after reading reviews and hearing friends talk about how good it is. Unfortunately, it's a no for me. Service was attentive but TOO attentive. Like coming by way too many times to check on us. Trying to pre-bus our table when we had only had half our appetizer. This happened twice! Our server even said, "well your meal is almost ready to come out". I'm not sure if it's Corporate's policy not to have an app and a main course on the table at once but seriously I don't care and I don't want to be rushed. Drop my main course and I'll figure it out but I'm not going to let you toss my paid for app! Even a food runner insisted on taking my app plate before I was ready! What is wrong with these people?!? So we started with the guacamole which was recommended. It lacked overall flavor so salt was added to each bite. It definitely needed seasoning. For our main courses we had chicken parm and what was supposed to be the southern fried chicken but instead chicken and waffles came- my husband did not want to send it back. Chicken parm was just average. The chicken was hot. The pasta was cold and the sauce tasted jarred not fresh. My husband said the waffles were tasty but the chicken was overcooked. Our server came back several times, which I get is nice but my husband takes his time while eating and almost always clears his plate. I think by the 4th time, she realized she just needed to leave us be. We also were gluttons for punishment and split dessert- oreo ice cream. It was good but what really was the worst part was our server's assistant dropped spoons off to the table before our dessert arrived and placed them on the dirty table. Not on a napkin or even a small plate. It was gross and just lacked basic etiquette. Then our server came by and took a rag and wiped the table down (lord knows where that has been) but avoided the spoons. We just looked at each other and laughed uses our water and cleaned the spoons ourselves. Food-wise and service wise the Doc...

Food: starters -we had candied bacon it good.
Entree- I had the mama Parm the chicken was cook to perfection! The sauce not sweet not sour but just right. The ragatoni pasta was a little chewy for my taste that's the only thing I would have change. My boyfriend ordered the mahi mahi sandwich he said it was a little too blacken for his taste. It didn't not taste fishy at all and it's locally caught in key west. His side was nice crispy fries head up they don't have ranch but they have an amazing garlic aioli type of deal.
Dessert- I had the chocolate cake amazing very moist delicious. My boyfriend ordered the homemade Oreo icea lord that's was delicious!
Service- here where Im not happy. Her attention towards the beginning was very attentive. Once our food came she was gone the whole time. Actually more busy talking her life away about ny and God knows what. Then she was scrambling trying to to clean due to she wanted to leave and didn't wanted to be there I heard her whole conversation. As a manager of a restaurant this is very very unprofessional poor taste and disrespectful towards us the customer, the kitchen staff for providing delicious food and hard work and towards the brand. I don't like to wait until I'm basically paying to get a refill ! I don't know if it was the manager sitting in the end but I kept turning around to see where my waiter was but even that person was more interested in talking to another server.
Atmosphere: relaxing elegant simple.
Parent note there no kids menu but they do have a plate that is Cajun chicken bite with fries.
Also this was write while I'm sitting here at...
Read moreI was going for a solitary Saturday lunch after a week of work, study and stress. I wanted a really nice but lively place to eat on my own. I went to the Cheesecake Factory but the bar area was up to capacity; I was offered a seat all alone in a small booth. That was not what I was looking for. So I walked to Miracle Mile trying to figure out where to eat. And DOCB's was there. I had never been here before. I asked for table for one and was seated at one of the tall booths in front of the bar and entrance. It was quiet, I was facing the TV screens and I was tired and hungry. No more walking at this point. This was it. I had a glass of Merlot and when it came my body woke up; a glass of chilled red wine!!! Good start. Then order a turkey burger. Oh my! It came cut in half, juicy, well-done. Up to this point you would think this is a good burger. Nooooo. This is an exceptional burger. The mushrooms, peppers, avocado, the bread texture; they all played beautifully for an exceptional turkey burger. And the fries were those with "blisters"; you know. The ones with sparkles of coarse salt that have exploded in the oil and make the skin crisp and the middle soft like mashed potatoes...I had a feast. But the sweet and kind service from my server and the manager; that was over the top. No, I have nothing to do with company, any of the people who work here. I am not a food writer. I am a woman who works and likes her food and her neighborhood. I AM COMING BACK WITH MY EXTENDED FAMILY; mom, brother, sister, nieces, brother-in-law. We are foodies and this is our new to-go place. I hope you have as great an experience as I...
