The Brunchful
My 70-something year old mother and 50-something year old me were running errands in the neighborhood when we started to look for a nice cafe to have breakfast and drinks.
We opted to try out “the Brunchful”.
My mom ordered a large cappuccino, water and an almond croissant.
I ordered a small hot chocolate, water and a juice called, “Alma Verde” (“Green Soul”: a mixture of spinach, celery, apple, cucumber, orange juice and ginger) and a croissant topped with smoked salmon and capers as well as scrambled eggs and cream cheese, dill and lemon.
Initially we were told that they had run out of almond croissants and they offered my mom a choice of a plain butter croissant or a chocolate croissant. Then, we were pleasantly surprised when they made a freshly-baked almond croissant hot out of the oven for my mother. Almond croissants are her favorite kind of croissants. She said it was her first time ever having an almond croissant freshly-baked and still warm from being in the oven. My mom enjoyed her almond croissant and cappuccino.
I enjoyed my salmon croissant, and hot chocolate plus water. I especially liked my Alma Verde juice which was very nutritious and refreshing.
Our servers were Aida from Cuba and Valentina from Argentina. Both young ladies had beautiful smiles and faces and were kind, friendly...
Read moreI visited this restaurant for brunch for the first time and, overall, the food was great, but my experience with the service left much to be desired. To start, we arrived first, but the server prioritized another guest who arrived after us. While it wasn't a huge deal since we did get our food around the same time, it did feel a little odd and inconsiderate, especially since she saw us waiting. The real issue came with the service during the meal. The server didn’t check in with us at any point to ask how the food was or if we needed anything, even though she did ask the person who came after us those same questions. It felt like she was only engaging with them because she thought they would tip her, which was frustrating. I’ve worked in customer service, so I understand that it can get busy, but it doesn’t take much to ask if someone is enjoying their meal, especially once the food is served.
That said, the food itself was excellent—delicious, fresh, and well-prepared. It’s just a shame that the service didn’t match up to the quality of the food. The server could definitely use more training, particularly in making all customers feel valued and ensuring basic customer engagement. If not for the lack of attentiveness, this would have been a much better...
Read moreGot in love with the food here, but I had a extremely aggressive and disgusting experience by someone who called himself the owner (not the Argentinian woman that I always see there). Came in by the back door as it was wide open, made the mistake of using the bathroom before getting a table, there was no water in the bathroom, as soon as I came out from it, an aggressive women started asking me who I was, I said.. "I'm sorry, I'm a CLIENT!"... apparently they were closed, she yield to me "don't you see that we are closed!!??, there is no.water!!, I said I'm sorry.. then this other "owner" was seated in a table completely out of her mind... "you're an abuser, we are closed!!!... there were like other 10 people seated on tables with computers... whatever. So bad to not come anymore, sadly their food is great but attention 0/10. Keep the backdoor closed and take a costumer...
