Pizza Carousel — Restaurant in Coral Springs

After visiting Bed Bath & Beyond in the same mall, we noticed Pizza Carousel on our way back to our car. We saw the banner above the entrance celebrating their 35th anniversary in business. We had never been there before and decided to have a pizza there. We had so much more than that! This turned out to be a most memorable dining experience that I would not have expected from anyplace other than a very upscale (and expensive) restaurant. While waiting for our order of a Supreme Pizza, Gabriel, an owner of the restaurant, visited our table to greet us and give us a generous serving of a delicious eggplant dish, and Danitsia, who was our server, brought garlic rolls and tuna salad on lettuce with plain rolls. I’ve eaten a lot of pizza in my 73 years (some of it in Italy), and this was the best I’ve ever had. When we thought we were finished with our meal, Gabriel gave us a piece of their sea salt caramel cheese cake for dessert! Move over Little Caesars and Pizza Hut, you are have been Replaced by Pizza Carousel! My husband found this Gem on our way to Coral Springs Fresh Market. He saw the 35 year sign and a commercial being produced during our visit. Once a steaming slice of lasagna was lifted out of a pan with cheese dripping. He became fixated on the restaurant. We ordered pizza to go that evening; cheese, pepperoni, and Hawaiian were delicious. Their pizza dough is soft and perfect. We came back and ordered in the following week. We had a Stromboli which was stuffed with mushrooms, black olives, onions, cheese, and pepperoni, and sausage with tangy and lightly spicy meat sauce, delicious combination! We had a cannoli for dessert with a crispy crust and sweet creamy filling, perfect ending of a great meal. The staff was very attentive and checked on us often. I wanted to update an old review I did for Pizza Carousel to make an important point. The best salads in town are served up here. The vegetables and feta cheese are always fresh and generous in portion. Even the basic small salads that come with the lunch specials are fantastic. Also they aren't really that small. They are larger than what is considered average elsewhere. In this day of sneaky downsizing of portions that frustrates consumers like me, it is refreshing to get a salad served up that is so good and generous too. As for the pizza, it is good and the best deal when it comes to lunch specials, provided you get the special that includes a salad. We love bargains and usually eat here at lunchtime because it is such a good deal. When we bring the kids, they love it as much as we do too.
