The Original Pancake House — Restaurant in Coral Springs

We were here for a late breakfast and could have had a better experience. Initially, we were told it'd be a 15 minute wait, but it ended up being less than 5 minutes! Score!! We were seated in a booth, which was also good! Our server approached our table, and although she was nice, her first statement to us was that she had to be in on her day off, and she wished people would stop coming in. Okaaaaay. She took our drink orders and left us to peruse the menu.

When she delivered our coffees, we placed our orders. I chose the Western Omelette (ham, onions, green and sweet red peppers, and cheese) which is served with a side of salsa. Hubby ordered the Ham and Cheese Omelette (diced ham and cheese). Both omelettes came with a side of 3 pancakes. Our food came out, delivered by an assistant manager, and mine didn't have the salsa on the side, so I asked for it. She seemed to sigh and told me she'd go get it for me. After she brought out the salsa, we started to eat. Hubby then noticed that his omelette had mushrooms in it. Our server came by to check on us, and he sent his omelette back stating he only wanted ham and cheese. He did eventually get the correct order. My omelette almost no cheese in it. I had order American cheese, and saw a spot of it halfway through the omelette (the size of a pencil eraser). The omelette had good enough flavor, but it would have been much better with the cheese. The pancakes were good, so that's a plus!

When we were done eating, our server brought our bill to the table. The receipt indicated that hubby had ordered the Ham and Mushroom Omelette, so the error was in the input of the order, not the kitchen. After a bit of time, our server came back to the table with hubby's credit card and receipt.

Overall, our experience could have been much better. The restaurant is still operating at 50% capacity, so it wasn't slammed full of customers, and there was no wait even when we were leaving. The service and demeanor of the staff wasn't very happy, the food was good but wrong, and service items (syrup pitcher, salt shaker, etc.) were sticky. This place could do so much better. Not sure which Original pancake house everyone else is going to, but it CANT be this one. My sister and I went here yesterday. When we walked it there wasn't a soul in sight except for some young blonde haired guy and another guy sitting 2 tables from the entrance. Eventually the blonde haired guy went and got Ledys who would also happen to be our server. She seated us and we both ordered orange juice. I've never been here before so my sister told me how great it was. When we got our juice it was pale, almost see through, bitter and had tons of pits and fragments in it. After trying it we asked for something else Ledys told us it wasn't her fault that sometime the juice comes out bitter, sometimes sweet she never knows which it will be. She then went, got our new drinks of which I asked for no ice, but still got ice anyway and then placed our order. I ordered a western baked omelette and pumpkin pancakes and Ledys offered whip cream and a powdered sugar dusting. My sister order an oven baked omletter with spinach mushrooms and feta but she asked that they go light on the feta and white toast light toasted. Our server acknowledged all of this. After this we waited and waited and waited and waited. Finally in a completely dead restaurant our food comes out and the whole front of her omelette is smashed and its overloaded with feta cheese and she has no toast. Ledys a few minutes later dropped burnt wheat toast and i placed a to go order. The bottom of mine is very well done but still tasted ok. I start eating my pancakes and realize there's no whip cream no powdered sugar and they aren't even pumpkin. I decide not to bother because I realize no one has come to check on us AT ALL since we received our food. Finally I had to run to my car and as im coming back in see the blonde haired guy sleeping at the front table and Ledys chatting it up in the back. Finally after we finished eating she returns to check on us and my sister states my pancakes were wrong and they need to be replaced. She says my to go order is ready but it takes about 15 minutes for me to get the to go order. She did replace my pancakes with my to go order but the damage was already done. Ill probably never...
