I am over 65 plus years old, disabled, immunocompromised and suffer from various debilitating health issues. My companion baby of almost14 years passed away a few months ago. It's been so bad, l had to get grief counseling and was diagnosed with PTSD. This is my story of what happened.
The vet who took care of my dog was an excellent vet. It's what happened in the last two visits that has left me fuming. In mid-October of 2023, I took my dog Harmony for her 6 month follow up visit as she was losing eyesight slowly. The prior visit was roughly 20% l was told and that her meds should maintain slow rate it had been for roughly 2 years l think. The day of the visit, Harmony was in some sort of distress and had gone to her regular vet a few days earlier and had workups, and we were waiting for those reaults. I let her usual attending physician know I was leaving his visit to take Harmony to her regular vet as she had been sick for a few days, and he told me yes, she needed to go there immediately. I let them know I was not refilling anything as I was concerned that they now said her vision had decreased tremendously that day to a very high percent dedpute all the sdrops and tablets in 6 months. Harmony passed four days later. While I was waiting for Harmony to be discharged, I took her to the car and came back, and they had rung up refills for 90 days! Trying to go to Weston to her vet, l decided that instead of arguing about refunding the card, l would just go back with the meds because they are slow in the front. Since then l have written, called. Very unresponsive considering the situation. I offered to return the meds a few days later, all unopened, and was told someone would call me. One lady left a message and said the Dr. is no longer there who I spoke to who said he would have someone to call me. No one has called back. This is certainly not the way to do business, especially when you took advantage of a situation wherein the practice is knowledgeable and saw Harmony's condition. Her doctor told me she was not well. I am grief stricken with the passing of my baby, who l had since she was 6 weeks. She died 2 weeks short of 14 years old. How can you perceive to take advantage of giving me 90-day meds when the meds were already not working if her eyesight went from 20% to 60%. Shame on you. Give me my money back. That was a quick...

This was a result of an injury in February that we spent months trying to save the eye.. ultimately developing into secondary glaucoma. We spent quite a bit of time with the drs and staff at animal eye guys in the Coral Springs location and in an emergency situation in Fort Lauderdale location. I cannot say enough about this team - they are all incredible. The staff is responsive and caring and I always felt she was getting the best care possible at animal eye guys. Dr Swinger guided us through the entire process and his expertise and caring nature was what really put us at ease. I was incredibly nervous to put her under anesthesia at her age and with her ibd and sensitivity to meds etc and Dr Swinger custom tailored a plan for her care to work around these concerns and everything really turned out perfectly. I couldnāt ask for a better Dr or a more optimal outcome given our circumstance. I was so hesitant to remove the eye and she is so much happier and herself after going through the procedure and healing. No more pain, drops or meds. I donated the extra medication I had for her after learning Dr. Swinger takes the meds to dogs in the Bahamas to care for. Cannot say more about this practice - they are incredible. Thank you Dr....
