We go to MANY different Thai places in the area. Generally on the Western side of St Rd 7 area from as far south as Weston to as far north as Boca - we really should start a blog!
I recently have had to travel extensively around the U.S.- so I try a place first by its soups. If the Tom Kha or Tom Yum is good then usually the rest of the menu is at least worth a try.
Fisho's Tom Kha soup was *really good! Full of your choice chicken, shrimp, or whichever you prefer.
It was very mild with all the correct spices & garnishes --- & just overall coconut creamy delicious with chunks of ginger! (Watch out! Don't chew that if you're spice sensitive! It's easy to spot bc it's a big chunk!) Add your own pepper flake to make it spicer or ask & I'm sure they would make it spicer for you. I like to add my own pepper.
It was really delicious! A clear winner!
The sushi & main dishes were also wonderful!
We requested alot of extra vegetables in our Cashew Chicken & Panama ir Red Curry. We always do that.
We prefer less meat more veggie in everything. Everywhere we've been always charges extra for that - but at Fisho - it was worth it bc they really do put extra veg in! Not at all like so many places where they maybe put a couple pieces broccoli in & it's so skimpy on the extra veggies & you know that they did not do you right...
Not here at Fisho! They put extra sugar snap peas, extra broccoli, extra green beans - etc etc etc!
Sooo great!!
The place was extremely clean & the ambiance was very good with gentle, easy listening music - not loud or "ear-grating" like some places so that you cannot talk at a normal level & you have to raise your voice just to talk across the table! Those type of noisy Thai places are horrible! I mean, you expect that out of certain types of places - but when you think of Thai --- you envision serenity & Lotus flowers! ×}
We've actually walked out of 2 other Thai places bc of that issue.
One in West Pembroke Pines that used to be so "Amazing" before they changed their dining area into that sort of thing they think is "trendy" (but it just feels like you're sitting in a weird Subway sandwich shop now with all the metal chairs & wild colors!) -- & another one in Margate that strangely enough did that same open, noisey, concept. (It used to feel like a serene "Garden" but now it's all noise & echo!) They at least kept to the low lighting & calm, tasteful colors --- but its still much too noisy & nerve wracking for a calm dinner experience! Just an open kitchen surrounded by nothing but sound refractive hard surfaces where the noise just bounces around & makes it so hard to have a conversation! Some places seem to think that's being trendy - but it just comes off in the end as extremely annoying after an hour or so of trying to hear over all the noise!
Fisho is a smaller, cozy place - intimate - & the overall atmosphere was quite nice & very tasteful.
They also have a very brisk "To Go" business it seems.
It was a quiet entrance when we came in - no one said hello except the hostess - but when we left everyone said such kind goodbyes! We were alittle shocked everyone collectively wished us goodnight & have a good evening, etc - even the Sushi Chefs! (We forgot to tip our Sushi Chefs!! So sorry! We'll fix that next time through!)
Everyone saying goodbye to us was like friends saying bye to you as you're leaving their house! So nice!
We are truly looking forward to returning and saying HI to everyone this time...
Read moreHaving a Sushi/Thai takeout restaurant close to home is a joy to my heart. I have been eating sushi since the early 70's when it was first introduced to New Yorkers by the South Korean salad stores making it available at lunchtime and then as it gradually blossomed into full Japanese restaurants. Today, 5/27/2020, I experienced for the first time Sushi prepared by this new local restaurant; Fisho Sushi & Thai; and I will be a new forever customer. Their lunch menu of 4 different rolls was plentiful and prepared wonderfully. Taste was exceptional and they also included 2 salads and some very tasty sauces for the sushi that I have never experienced before and all were great. I will definitely be ordering from their expanded Sushi/Thai menu on a weekly basis as this new establishment will become my new go to for sushi and thai dishes. What a wonderful new takeout/eat in restaurant has replaced the previous sushi restaurant that was located there and I wish them great success and a long life for their wonderful eatery that combines great food at very fair prices and new and...
Read moreI had really high expectations ordering from here. It's behind my neighborhood (problem for me financially but great for them), reviews looked good, menu sounded great. We ordered pick up. The order was made right, we modified some stuff, all the sauces requested were there and it looked absolutely beautiful. It was one of the nicest packaged to go orders we've had. The rolls were very good, the issue came with the sashimi. It looked beautiful but smelled very fishy. Even the octopus was fishy, and that was a first. When pulling the pieces a part there was a slime that there. I didn't eat much and eneded up giving the rest to my cats. I used my hands to pull apart a few pieces to feed them and my fingers stunk so bad, I had to wash them several times with antibacterial dish soap and Mrs Meyers for the smell. I have NEVER experienced that before. I honestly am quite perplexed as to how something could look so nice and be so off. I can't say that...
