We called in an order to the Denny's in Corinth to pick up on our way out of town. When we went to pick up our order it was ready and waiting and were told everything was in the bag. We left and headed out of town. Once we opened our bag a few minutes later we realized that our order was made wrong. We ordered a French toast slam and a burger with fries and a coke. First thing we noticed was that we did not receive our drink. Then we noticed that the eggs which we had ordered over hard was instead replaced with a hard boiled egg 1 not even 2 per the order and the bacon was completely black and burnt at the bottom. Could be a simple mistake I get it. Then the worst issue was when I picked up the box for the burger out of the bag there was oil or grease or gravy, some type of greasy goo all over the bottom of the bag which had come through the box and had gotten all over the burger and fries. The burger was completely soggy and fell apart when I tried to pick it up. I'm not usually one to call and ask for a refund but this was pretty bad. I called the store explained the issue to the person who answered and she said let me get my manager. After sitting on hold for 5 minutes the manager finally answered and I explained the situation thinking it would be a simple issue and would be given a refund on principle of good customer service but this where things when down hill. The manager said that we would have to bring the food back and be given a store credit. Normally I wouldn't have minded but by this point I'm 30 miles away and on my way to a family anniversary party. When I explained that I could not do that and asked for her to just issue the refund to my card she then sighed and sounded frustrated and abruptly said hang on and then hung up on me. Not hold but actually hung up as the phone went to the fast busy signal a call makes when it is disconnected. I called back again. Someone picked up the phone I explained that I was speaking with the manager and we got disconnected. I was hoping it was a simple accident and trying to give the benefit of the doubt. I waited another five minutes someone picks up the phone as I could hear noises in the background and then click busy signal again. At this point I realized they were intentionally hanging up on me. I called back a third time and was immediately hung up on without even a hello. Assuming the store had caller ID I called from another phone number. This time I was extremely frustrated and asked to speak to the manager again. She finally come on the phone and says that she is not able to offer a refund. We argued back and forth and I finally asked to speak to her manager or given the number to a corporate manager. Upon calling the corporate manager's cell phone. I was told that they didn't believe that anything was wrong with my order and that I would not be given a refund. I told him I would send photos of the food to prove what I was saying. Upon sending the photos I called him back to make sure he received them. He stated yes he did and they would issue a refund. He then proceeded to lecture me about being rude to his employees (which I was not until I had been hung up on twice) and when I told him I apologize for being rude but your employees should not be hanging up on me. He then got mad because I wouldn't back down from the bad customer service complaint and refused to believe that I was hung up on and then changed his mind and said that no I'm not giving you a refund because you were rude to my employees. We argued back and forth and he then...wait for it... HE hung up. I called him back and when I asked if hanging up on people was a Denny's corporate policy he responded and said no I'm in a bad area my phone dropped the call. That's a lie because I have an iPhone. Any dropped calls for any reason will show a "Call Failed" message. I didn't point that out to him but again asked for the number to his supervisor which he again refused but instead directed me to send my complaint online if I wanted my refund.
BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER...
Read moreThis place irritated me from the second we walked in the door. The had about three tables in use. All the waitresses stood behind the food counter staring at us and talking amongst themselves, while we waited almost five minutes to be seated. The only waitress running around working, Cindy, saw us waiting, and seated us. We where there for almost two hours because Cindy was working every single table that came through the door, by herself. Not one other waitress lifted a finger. She was so busy that she was never able to get back to us for refills, or to get our check. We had to stand up to try and flag someone down, which didn't work because all the other staff ignored us. So while I continued to wait, my daughter took my granddaughter to go potty. Still nobody helped me. As my daughter came back from the restrooms, she stopped at the counter and asked for our check and to go boxes, and they sent Cindy again. My daughter said the restrooms were disgusting. You can tell Cindy was exhausted, but she remained a sweetheart the entire time. She let me borrow her readers because I accidently left mine home. She repeatedly kept apologizing for not being attentive and checking if we needed refills it anything. But we assured her that it was not her fault, and under the circumstances, she was doing amazing. Not one other wait staff even attempted to clean tables or wait tables, or even seat the customers when the came in. One woman came in to pick up a to go order, she was in a hurry because her dog was in the car with the window down, and she didn't want her to jump out. Again, no other wait staff would help her. So when Cindy finished bringing drinks to again, another table, she rushed over to check us out. Saw the woman with the dog in a rush. Looked back for help, and nobody cared to help her. So we let the lady go before us. One large group of people came in and needed tables pushed together, that's when one of the girls from the back counter ran up and seated the large party, while another staff member stood with her back to more waiting customers so she can watch as the large party was being seated, and then returned to the back counter. Never helped the other customers. Anyway, if you go to this location on I35E/Swisher in Corinth. Ask for Cindy, and leave this wonderful woman a large tip. The largest tip amount it would let you leave was 22%, so my daughter chose"other" and left her a much bigger tip. I would give zero stars, but I will give two for Cindy. I would give her all 5 stars if I was rating just her. I took a video to prove my post, but it will not let me...
Read moreAbout 3pm on Labor Day while out shopping, my mother and I decided to stop at Denny's in Corinth for a bite to eat since there is a variety to chose from. Upon entering I notice one other couple dining and two employees in the kitchen and another one coming in from smoking outside. My mother excused herself while I asked for a table. When sitting down at a table I noticed food on the floor underneath a nearby table; thinking to myself there must have been a rush at lunch and with the skeleton crew they haven't had the opportunity to sweep yet. When we ordered our drinks I looked across the way to only see food ruminates underneath several other tables; with several flies flying around. Since we were already seated and had our drinks we decided to go ahead and order our meals. The waitress was mediocre and the wait from the time we placed our orders to the time they were received was no longer than usual. Unfortunately, my appetite had turned sour by that time. I ate half of the hashbrowns and 1/4 of the sandwich I ordered before I had to push my plate away. While dining one waitress wiped down the nearby tables (which none had food on them and appeared clean already). A few minutes later another waitress began refilling the sweeteners on the table; counting each packet type, as if she were to ensure a specific number of each type were in the containers. Then checked the level of ketchup, salt, and pepper. Both waitresses had to step over the messes on the floor underneath each table. The impression that we got was the waitresses were waiting for the other to clean (sweep/mop); therefore, the task never got done. In case management would like to see proof of our dining experience I captured the dirty floors and the counting of the sweetener packs on video. I read previous comments about the filth of this specific location and only wish we would have read them sooner. Why hasn't the health department taken action? Too bad every city doesn't adopt the same law as The Colony requiring restaurants to clearly display their inspection results for their patrons to see as they walk through their door! This will be the last time I (we) dine at this...
