We recently visited Jack’s Corner Tap and had a mixed experience. Upon being seated in a booth, we noticed that our menus were dirty, which was a bit off-putting. As we looked around, we also saw other areas of the restaurant that could have used more attention in terms of cleanliness. Despite that, we were still open to having a good experience, but unfortunately, service was another issue.
It took about 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Servers walked by, made eye contact, and yet no one stopped. At one point, we even overheard an employee saying, "I don’t even know what to do right now," which didn’t exactly boost our confidence. When someone finally did take our order, they at least apologized for the wait and thanked us for our patience.
Food-wise, there were some hits and misses. I really enjoyed my French Onion Crunchy Burger, and the fries were good. The buffalo chicken dip had a decent flavor, but the naan that came with it was bland, and the dip-to-naan ratio felt off. The homemade potato chips were a nice touch, though they were a bit too greasy. My girlfriend didn’t enjoy her chicken sandwich, saying something about the chicken seemed off, but she did like the honey mustard. On a positive note, the homemade "Cheer Wine" cocktail was delicious, even though it didn’t actually have Cheerwine in it.
The atmosphere leans into the sports bar aesthetic, which is fine, but there were way too many TVs. It felt like we were constantly being blasted with ads, which made it a little overwhelming. While the vibe is casual and family-friendly, the combination of slow service, cleanliness issues, and inconsistent food quality made it a less-than-stellar experience for us.
Overall, while there were some good aspects—like the drinks and certain menu items—we left feeling a bit disappointed. It’s not a terrible spot, but there are definitely areas that could use improvement. If you go, just be prepared for some potential service delays and...
Read moreLast time: Ok, I think we've given this place enough chances. Went looking for a cheesesteak type sandwich, saw that Jack's had one so we decided to try it. We couldn't have been more disappointed. The bun was dry, the meat was overcooked so it was dry and crumbly. The onions were slimey, and they topped it with a blob of "cheese" sauce. It tasted more like flour. You can see in the pictures how the texture is like paste. Oh, and the chocolate cake. The girl said they had chocolate cake. I asked her if it was regular cake or the molten. She assured me that it was regular cake. She said it was like a tuxedo cake. You can see by the picture that the only cake in it was a thin slice at the bottom the the rest was some kind of mousse. This is definately NOT tuxedo cake. Not really cake at all. They need to train their people better. That was our last trip to that restaurant.
2nd trip: We went a few months ago and again ordered the chocolate cake with our meal, to go. They were out of chocolate cake but instead of telling my husband so I could pick something else, they put in a molten lava cake. I hate lava cake! So my husband drove all the way back with the lava cake to show them. Instead of giving him a different dessert or a refund for the one he just gave back to them, they gave him a card for a dessert next time. 🤦♀️
1st trip: My husband stopped in to get some burgers to bring home. The place was fairly busy and they were short staffed. But even then, the service was fast and the staff was friendly. The food was good however I will have to amend my review when I get the chance to eat there. By the time my husband got home, the food was a little bit cold so that effects the quality of the food. We did enjoy the burgers, the fries and sweet potato fries. The onion rings we're crunchy but a little greasy. I think they'd be perfect hot and fresh. The chocolate cake is to die for, rich and chocolatey. Forgot to mention that Thursday is burger night....
Read moreI met some friends on Thursday evening with my daughter, they already had a table (right next to door to bar) and had ordered by the time when I arrived. After 25 minutes without a visit from the waitstaff, my friend and I went to the bar to order a drink and told the bartender that our waitress was missing in action and requested that waitstaff come and visit our table. After another 10 minutes without a server, I went to the front desk and again asked for a member of the waitstaff to come and visit our table. Another 10 minutes went by without a member of the staff dropping by our table and the food that was ordered about 45 minutes before I arrived had not shown, we decided to leave as our children had school the next day. I made a point to ask the next server for a manger and while the young lady said she would get the manager, instead attended to another table before recalling a member of leadership. I did not wait and went to the front desk to ask for the manager - she happened to be at the front desk at the time and asked if she could help. I shared with her what occurred and it was apparent she was not aware. She did ask if there was anything she could do, however there was not as it was too late in the evening with kids to stick around for more of the inferior customer service experienced thus far. I cannot speak to the quality of the food this evening as the waitstaff never came to my table to take my order in the entire 50 minutes I was at this restaurant. This location clearly is not wired very tight, is managed poorly, with very mediocre waitstaff. Definitely require some staff re-training and an updated order management system. They could not be bothered with my business whatsoever - I would recommend finding another place to eat, especially if you want...
