Solid Spot with Outdoor Patio and Live Music on the Weekends.
We visited Torrence and Knox on a Friday night and overall had a really enjoyable time. The live music was a big highlight—no cover charge, and the band was great! Sitting outside in their fenced-in patio area was probably our favorite part of the night. It’s family-friendly, relaxed, and the perfect spot to enjoy a casual evening.
As for the food, there were definitely hits and a few misses. I ordered the New York-style Philly cheesesteak—the shaved ribeye and veggies were solid, but it could’ve used a lot more cheese, and the bun felt more like a basic hot dog roll than a proper hoagie. The mozzarella sticks were okay, but the marinara sauce tasted too close to ketchup, and the cheese could’ve been meltier.
On the upside, the fries were fantastic—crispy, golden, and flavorful—and the mayo dip that came with them was surprisingly good, possibly house-made or jazzed up in a way we really liked. My girlfriend had the crispy chicken sandwich special and enjoyed it.
We appreciated the restaurant’s effort to reduce waste—reusable ramekins, no plastic straws, and not a lot of throwaway packaging. That’s something more places should be doing. However, we did feel the vibe inside was a little stiff. It wasn’t exactly the warmest or most welcoming atmosphere, and we didn’t quite feel like we fit in with the typical crowd there.
Prices were on the higher end, and there was even an extra charge for a tiny side of buffalo sauce, which felt unnecessary. Still, it's not outrageous, and for the music and outdoor ambiance, it's worth it.
We didn’t try any drinks this time, but we might next visit. Overall, Torrence and Knox has potential—especially if they fine-tune the menu a bit more. We’ll likely be back for the live music, outdoor seating, and that perfect-for-weekend-nights...
Read moreOur experience was very regrettable. My son and I had just received good news and went to Torrence and Knox as a celebration
We were seated right away. Before we had finished our meal we were ushered out of the room because they were playing Truvia WHY WERE WE SEATED THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE?
I ordered Shrimp Po Boy. The Shrimp was so OVER COOKED, all that remained was the Crunch I didn't eat my food;. I also didn't complain. I placed the plate to the edge of the table
My friend ordered Philly Cheesesteak which was under par, actually DELI MEAT between 2 pieces of bread He ate his sandwich
When the waitress came back I asked her to take my meal back the kitchen telling her the shrimp was overcooked. Just the batter
At this point a well Managed restaurant would have sent the manager to the table hopefully working towards solution or at least understanding Nothing!!
I asked for our bill. Waitress presented only the total. I had to ask for the detail. She had charged me for the complete meal I returned
She called the manager He was combative. I had no intention of responding to his loud and erratic statements I keep asking how much I owed I just wanted to pay and leave. He aggressively Repeated with excuse after excuse; ignoring my request to pay the remainder of the bill Finally he exclaimed I didn't have to pay anything
He followed me into the parking lot in a loud voice
As a local business man, hiring an occasional incompetent happens... I will notify the owner of our experience He has a huge investment in this restaurant He needs to know disgruntled...
Read moreI stopped in and had the Brooklyn Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries—and wow, I was seriously impressed! The sandwich was packed with flavor from the arugula, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. I would absolutely order it again. The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly—crispy and not soggy like they sometimes can be.
I paired it with a draft IPA, which was super refreshing on a hot day. The live music added a great vibe to the whole experience and really brought the atmosphere together. The restaurant itself is open and inviting, with a long bar and plenty of seating. I sat at the bar and had excellent service from Stephen—friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better.
Even though it was raining, I noticed they have a nice outdoor area with picnic tables and a setup for live music. The whole place has a laid-back, homey feel—definitely somewhere I’d bring friends and family for good food and drinks. I can’t...
