Found Walls of Books, in Cornelius, by chance as I drove past their location on the interstate. I had no idea we had two local bookstores in the Lake Norman area, so I was excited to drive over and visit the location. I was so pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of new and used books, and the prices are fantastic. I also love the book memorabilia and kids toys that are scattered around the store. It's so important that we support all of our local bookstores in Charlotte. We have so few that we must take advantage of all they have to offer. I will be spending many days at Walls of Books. They had a used book, in perfect condition, that I have been searching for, for quite some time. Such a pleasant surprise all around! I cannot wait to share it with other book lovers! The shopping center around the bookstore is also fantastic, so many wonderful food options, my favorites are Sangam Indian Cuisine Restaurant and Ferrucci's Old Tyme...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am participating in the Freater Charlotte book crawl this year and this was my seventh stop. The lady attending the store was super sweet and super helpful. The place is super cozy, and there is such a wide variety of books from reference books, books pertaining to certain hobbies, even Manga and so much more, you'll be there for hours, they even sell audiobooks CD's. I found a very popular book that was being sold for five dollars cheaper and I was super excited. They have a trade system where if you bring books in, then you will get in- store credit for up to 50% or if you bought a book from them that has a yellow sticker and you return it (the yellow sticker must be in tact) then you will receive a 50% back in store credit. For local authors who want to have their books in this store, you must contact Melinda, the owner of the bookstore via email and she we'll tell you the process and where to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to Wall of Books for the first time yesterday after not even knowing it was there. I will definitely be going back. The lady running the shop was incredibly helpful and sweet. The shop itself is lovely. There were so many books to choose from and everything is so well organized with everything put into separate sections and alphabetized by author. My three favorite things about this store is the amount of comfy chairs inside where you can sit and read, the fact that you can return some of the books for a discount towards your next purchase, and the "blind date books" where you don't know what book you're getting until you open the package (you get a general description of genre to choose from). I will say, this store isn't very accessible because of the small doorway with a moderately high frame and cramped aisles, so if you're a wheelchair user or have mobility issues, be conscious of that...
