Creme de la Creme Cafe — Restaurant in Corona

We thought we'd stop in for a cookie for our little one and saw some beautiful desserts! I got the espresso chocolate mousse cake and wow it felt like it had been sitting there all night! It had a "protective layer" around it! Lol! It was hard and rubbery. But after picking it apart, in the very middle of it there was a moist cake and the mousse was creamy. So I had about 3 tiny bites of it. My husband got the pineapple upside down muffin and same thing. The pineapple was really rubbery. In the middle it was better. We also got a chocolate croissant and that was hard and very dry! My son wouldn't even eat it and he loves chocolate! I would have given this a 1 star but I will say they redeemed themselves with the Turkey and avocado on sourdough sandwich. Amazing! It was the only thing fresh! We were told they were out of regular mayonnaise so we picked the pesto mayonnaise instead...it was awesome with it! I would request that instead. As far as the bakery part. They looked much better...

I've only been there once, so I'm giving it three stars to be fair. The staff was great, the place was inviting, and the menu looked good. The cupcakes looked good, too, however. And they were pretty bad. The cake was dry, and what was supposed to be a cream cheese frosting tasted like it came from a powdered mix or something. Can't quite put my finger on why it seemed off, but it was so bad I couldn't even swallow the one bite I took. Maybe it's a taste thing, but I've never had a red velvet cupcake with frosting that tasted like that. My friend's lemon was the same way.
