hikari sushi & ramen — Restaurant in Corona

Walked in and was meet with a large spill on the floor, sticky floors, dirty booths and felt like it has not been cleaned in a long time. We were going to leave but my husband wanted to give it a shot because we had a good experience in the past! Our young server told us it was 50% off rolls instead of the previous special of but one get one free. So we confirmed the roll we were interested in were 50% off! The rolls were warm, sashimi was thinly sliced and had been cut against the grain on the tuna. When our bill came, there was no discount so we called the young man back and we were told that it was 50% off the original price of a menu that we didn’t even get. So that the price is on the menu are the correct prices. We asked to see the manager. A very unkept man came to the table to explain that the menu we were given 50% off from their original menu. And we told him that is not what we were explained. We were told that the roles were 50% off and we confirmed it. This manager explained that it’s 50% off the menu price from the menu that nobody gets. We told him he needed to train his employees to not say that there’s a discount that the price on the menu is the price of the rolls and not a discount. So the food is good, but I have a couple gripes about this place. It has nothing to do with their dine in experience, just their take out.

First, is their food availability. They are out of beef, and teriyaki bowls so much. I’d say half the time I’ve tried to order they are out.

Second is payment. I pay with Apple Pay and cash. I’m a relatively picky eater so I don’t like ordering online as I like to be specific about what I want. If I’m buying an $18 bowl of beef and rice, I think I have the right to have it my way. There are so many places I can call in to order, and don’t require payment ahead of time. I have a baby so I don’t ever dine in, and I’m just trying to order as quickly as possible. They require payment ahead of time. It’s super frustrating because I have cash and would like to pay cash. But they just won’t work with me on it. I’m a creature of habit. If I like something, I eat it all the time. I’d order from this place at least twice a week if both of these issues weren’t a thing. I’m sure the dine in experience is great. Everytime I talk to them when I pick the food up they are kind, so it’s got nothing to do with the staff and the food...

This is by far some of the best sushi I have ever had.This is also the best sushi you will get in Corona for sure!!! If you think you could find a better place please tell me where it is in Corona. I seriously doubt that you will. Infact I know you won't. The service was great. Everyone was very friendly. Now to what I ordered. I ordered the Superman burrito, which is the best superman burrito I have ever had. The salmon and tuna that came In the Superman burrito were extremely fresh. It was so good my 7yr old son ate two pieces. I also ordered the Volcano roll. Which by the way was literally a volcano in the center of it and it tasted just as good if not better than it looked. I ordered the Ramen with extra pork belly and man did they deliver. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone that is looking for delicious and authentic sushi and ramen.
