Islands Restaurant — Restaurant in Corona

Islands is your typical burger joint with your untypical theming. When you walk in the door you are Swept Away to a Tropical Paradise. Until, you hear the loud music in the background. On my last visit though to this Islands the music seem to be toned down quite a bit and actually wasn't a distraction at all. It wasn't a very busy this night which made for a short wait for a table.

Once we were seated we were eventually greeted by our server. The host staff and the serving staff do a great job at this Islands. They are attentive and we were checked on multiple times buy servers other than our own.

The food is typical of almost any Burger Restaurant but the onion rings are to die for. Quite honestly, I don't even go for the burgers it's the onion rings I love. But when I do eat here, I order the Hawaiian burger. My tip for those of you who are ordering this burger is to get it dry with no mayonnaise and Teriyaki get those on the side. Also ask for your lettuce and tomato and onions on the side. The problem with this burger is when they put all those things on, the onion lettuce and tomato and mayonnaise are all on the bottom of the burger. By the time it reaches your table the condiments have soaked through the bottom bun and it falls apart. The same thing happens to the top bun with the teriyaki. If you order all those things on the side you can build your burger and it will be fresh and ready for you to eat. The mixture of the teriyaki, pineapple, cheese, and all the condiments, make for a great burger.

I would have given this location 4.5 stars but there was some confusion over our order although it was eventually solved satisfactorily. I highly reccomend this Ilands location. Of course, as always your...

I ate at this restaurant during their lunchtime HapPy Hour and admittedly the food was quite good ~ especially my burger and fries. I do think the pineapple was tasteless and over cooked and totally not good - but everything else was quite wonderful.

I did get a bit sick yesterday and was helped to the restaurant's bathroom by my server Brie. I do think it was that pineapple ( which just didn't taste that great at all ) and what I saw mostly when I threw up.

Admittedly, it doesn't feel that great to be laying on the floor of a bathroom after throwing Up but I did exactly that -to ease my stomach pain and head dizziness.

After a few minutes, I got up walked toward the outside and asked for the Manager ( forgive me, I do not remember her name ) she immediately came to my rescue and stayed with me until the car service arrived.

I must say that this Manager and her co Manager ( I don't remember his name either ) were on it. They helped me to my Uber, talked to the driver ( even when I staggered to his car to explain that I was sick and to please drive me home safely - they was with me.

I did eventually get home safe and went to sleep almost immediately.

I tell my story to publicly say Thank YOU to the two Managers who helped me - even when I became frustrated at the driver they remained professional, kind and in control ~ I am overwhelmed with appreciation and gratitude for all of their assistance.

I feel good today and I am happy !!! 10++ customer service and the food excellent (minus the pineapple lol)

Will I return??? ~ absolutely !!!

Food: So I ordered the Nachos for a starter and they were a really good sized portion and really delicious and you don't find good nachos and lost places but these were by far my favorite. As my main dish I ordered the Hawaiian burger. Really good, pineapple was bomb, and the burger patty itself was good. Would definitely order this again

Service: So I'm tough when it comes to grading the wait staff so when I tell you that I gave this place a 5 star based on the service I received should say A LOT. First off we went in really late with a party of 20 and were seated right away. Not only that but the entire time we were there we did not have to wait for anything. Refills came quick and any menu questions we had were answered. If management is reading this, please thank your waiting staff.

Ambiance: overall the place was ok, nothing special stood out. Definitely casual but from a burger oriented place what else do you expect.
