Tonight’s dinner was disappointing to say the least. In all my years of eating at Rubio’s this was the worst service I have ever received. The store was moderately busy, 2 kids manned the kitchen one at the front desk and a supervisor (Zoe).
The kitchen was slammed and they were taking their sweet time getting the food out. The supervisor was on expo waiting for the food to be prepared meanwhile there were 5 customers waiting for their order 3 DoorDashers and my family. Everyone waited a half hour for their food, we got ours in 45 minutes. It was a bit cold, but still warmer than the customer service we received.
The Sup just stared at the screen while the two boys struggled to get food out. She was talking and laughing with the front desk kid and the more she laughed the more impatient her customers grew. She made no eye contact and was as dry as the beans they put out. Everyone walked out disappointed at their experience. Not once did it occur to her to put on some gloves and help, or even delegate the work so that they could catch up.
She kept rubbing her eyes and touching her face then handling food. It looked like they had no training at all! I was about to ask for my money back when they brought my food out after 45 minutes!
I don’t blame the kids for their slow work, they’re young and inexperienced. The supervisor however, being a supervisor should have stepped up and done more to expedite the orders! Asking for things was like pulling teeth, like we were bothering them while on their break. It...

Rubio’s has always been a great spot in corona, and with Covid wiping out staff in droves, the staff that are able to work are often over worked.
I went in for some fish tacos after a lazy Sunday and found the staff in ghost mode.
Just heads down work work work. There was no time for them to just take a breath. And with only 4 people running the whole place, I was impressed it hadn’t fallen apart.
The quality of the food did not falter one bit, these people take pride in their work and it shows.
I forgot to take pictures of my food, it was so good I just devoured it.
Sky was upfront at the counter and working in the kitchen, she was flying all over the place. You could tell she was given more than she signed up for.
All in all 10/10 Rubio’s is always good, 5 stars for the staff that’s taking on the weight of a...
Read moreI love Rubio's and this is one is a great location, making it an easy stop while out shopping in the area. The store is clean and well kept, staff nice. I am obsessed with their balsamic veggie salad add salmon, get it every time. My only real gripe is that the portions are tiny. I would eat here much more often, but coming with a 12 year old kid and a husband who loves meat and lots of it, I don't get to as much as I would like. The kids meal is tiny, the tacos and burritos are, my the flavors are always great, we usually go for lunch when you don't want to walk around too full for the rest of the day anyways.
