Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

Moment me and my group walked in, host seemed annoyed and made me feel like it was an inconvenience we went here to eat. Let host know we'd wait at the bar for a table. There was food on the floor along the wall by the bar where you rest your feet and the bar was sticky. Decided to get some drinks while at the bar. I got a margarita, way too much sour mix and was overly sugary. Passed the marg off to my group and they finished it amoungst themselves slowly, as nobody liked it. Decided to order a Jager bomb instead, it's such a simple drink so I figured it was going to be no problem to make it well. It was also unenjoyable as it was way too warm, almost hot. I went to the restroom and the trash cans were overflowing with toilet paper covered in feces, it smelt BAD. While waiting on the table my husband got another drink and chose the specialty long island drink they offer on the menu. It was all just sugary flavoring. I heard someone across the bar order one too and when bartender asked how he like it the customer made a face and said it was too sweet, so this wasn't just a me thing. We finally get a booth, right next to the door. I asked if we could have a different booth as I didn't want to be right next to the front door because there is a lot of in and out. Host said that's all they have available. I decided to go back to the bar because not only did I not like the location of the booth the floor was soaked like someone spilt a drink and it hadn't been cleaned. We get back to the bar and get our food (endless boneless wings and fries, that's what brought us in today). When ever we wanted another serving of wings and fries it felt awkward asking. We got one plate of wings but no fries and I'd have to ask for the fries a second time. Then I'd have to ask about my groups wings as they had requested theirs before I asked for mine and theirs never showed up but mine did but with no fries. The bartender Cam was okay. She left and the gentleman that replaced her was attentive and helpful. The cook came out a few times and made small talk, seemed like a cool dude. Manager seemed irritated every time I saw her. Food was great. Over all, not a fan of this place. It's dirty, the beer on tap isn't very cold, the drinks aren't great, customer services from the guy behind the bar was excellent but I don't see myself coming back here. The waitress were sulking around and seemed miserable. Terrible vibe...

Worst ever experience! First we asked for a booth and we were told the didn't have any servers for the booth area. Then proceeded to set us right across from a booth. Maybe the servers aren't allowed to turn around. Then we waited quite some time for the waitress. Long enough that we had decided what to eat before she came to take our drink order. So we ordered our food then as not to have to wait for her to come back again. We watched the drinks sit on the bar for 5 to 10 minutes before she finally decided to bring them over. Mind you ther were only about 5 tables and 4 people at the bar at this time. Not busy! After quite another wait and watching other tables that came in after us get served, we asked about our order. She said there food was faster to make? There burgers as to a salad and boneless wings?? Finally we got served as some of the previous mentioned tables were leaving. So I asked if I could go ahead and order another batch (all you can eat) since they take so long to cook. We had all finished AND payed the bill, still no second batch. After a little over a half our the guy next to me that ordered at the same time got his so I asked if they could just put them in a box so we could make another engagement. No problem. Then after another ten or so minutes we inquired again and were told they are coming and she's sorry. We said that's what you keep saying. She said "You're right I'm not sorry" and walked off. We asked for a manager who finally came out with the order and we made our complaint which the table next to us verified and echoed similar service. She told us she was very sorry but there was nothing she could do. I can, never go back and...

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would. I went here with some friends before they moved away to have a good dinner and drink some beer; however, we were met with disastrous restaurant management. First, for some reason (I am thinking a lack of staff), the kitchen was overwhelmed with the number of patrons. We waited 15-20 minutes for a beer (after being forgotten), and it took another hour before we got our food. When we got our food, it was cold - as if our dishes were sitting for a long while. Our dishes were even dirty. My dish in particular seemed to have a dirty blue wax on it. The story does not end there. After trying to signal our waiter to have our food taken back, my friend sitting next to me slammed his hand with a napkin on the table - surely not out of frustration - but because there was a COCKROACH ON OUR TABLE. It fell to the ground and crawled away. That's when I stood up out of the booth and signaled the manager (who was busy putting out other fires around the restaurant). I told him sternly the situation and explained that the restaurant was a health hazard and should have been shut down to deal with the pest problems, and to reorganise. Did they close? No. The manager apologised repeatedly and let us leave. Apologies do not fix health hazards or bad service. I feel sorry for the other customers that were consuming cockroach infested food. Luckily for the few tables around us, they saw what happened and quickly threw some money on the table and left.
