Authentic New York Pizza — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

Went in because of the great reviews, left agreeing with the negative reviews. This experience was a complete disappointment, couldn’t have possibly been worse. After being seated and placing our order, we were completely neglected the rest of the time. Our server disappeared, so we had to hunt another server down to get drink refills each time. We needed dressing for our salad, this time BOTH servers were no where to be found. By the time one came into sight and we waved them down for dressing, our salad was just about finished (ended up eating it dry). Half of our meal came out, by the time we were finished , the other half still hadn’t arrived!!! This is absolutely unacceptable. Once again, there was NO server around to explain what was going on. By the time we were ready to leave, we still hadn’t received the other half of our order, so we waited forever once again for a server to appear, and of course had to waive them down. We let the server know we were ready to leave and to go ahead and cancel the rest of the missing order. The server tried convincing us to take the other half of our order to go ONCE it comes out (at full price of course). Why would I WAIT take it to go when I ordered it for DINE IN? Ridiculous. Not once throughout this terrible experience was anyone apologetic (how could they be when they never came around to check on us ). They even attempted to overcharge us! When I asked to see a menu to verify the pricing since it wasn’t itemized correctly, the server decided to correctly input the items and informed me it would be $3 cheaper and asked if I would like to pay for the correct $3 cheaper option or pay for the more expensive incorrect option she first gave me. Are you kidding me?!?! Why was this even a question? As far the food that we did receive, it was average. The service was horrendous at best. Edit: My review was only the reflection of how your pizza was but instead you chose to demean the person itself and try to suppress people who were giving honest reviews. Let’s speak about FACTS the way they were instead of your way. We enter your business when they were hardly two or three tables occupied and asked for your appetizers which were given promptly and we didn’t complaint anything about that in our review. Later we decided to try your pizza and it took you almost an hr to bring it to us that too after checking multiple times with you. When we had it the next moment we told one of your staff that this doesn’t taste well and something seems to be wrong with it. You asked us what could have gone wrong we told you that the veggie toppings were not cooked properly and they doesn’t seem to be going along with your pizza .THAT WAS OUR ANSWER. We know you apologized for that and instead offered us to remake a new one, it’s NEW YEAR EVE we don’t want to spend one more hour in your restaurant waiting for your pizza. So we let you know that we are in a hurry and we want to leave. Thats when we decided to leave even without having any of your pizza and WHEN WE ASKED WOULD YOU NOT CHARGE FOR THE PIZZA YOU REJECTED SAYING YOU CANT OFFER A FREE PIZZA. We agreed even for that and paid the whole amount and took out whatever was left . Since we are truly disappointed in your service we have the right to give our rating and as a business it’s your responsibility to accept that and try to make it better instead you START BEHAVING RUDE ON A PUBLIC PLATFORM making derogatory comments on a particular individual is something you should consider improving. Went for dinner one night after reading some of the great reviews. Place was busy but we did not have to wait long to get a table. First thought was this place is mighty drab. Ordered a meat lovers pizza for the boys and my wife and I split a cheese steak sub. The sandwich came out and it was a bit small for the price but the pizza came out a few minutes later and we could not believe it. It had more toppings than I had ever seen on a pizza before. That says a lot because I have had pizza around the world. It tasted great. Now the bad news. After loving it so much we ordered takeout one night. We ordered the Greek Pizza and a meat lovers with extra sauce (there was very little on the first one we had) and extra cheese. They said it would be about and hour before it would be ready. We were good with that. Showed up to pick up the pizzas and we took them home. Boy what a surprise. The Greek pizza looked like it was cooked a week ago with very little toppings (the cheese had that opaque look like reheated cheese) and almost no Fete Cheese. Spinach was the canned, cooked type lumped on the pizza. It was clearly added after the pizza was cooked. The meat lovers looked about the same as the original one. Very little extra cheese and the crust was soggy. That may be our fault for asking for extra sauce. Being new to Corpus Christi we were bragging on the place but some of the locals we know cautioned us about the place.
