Absolutely No accountability or responsibility for anything. Sort of makes sense of how it was run when we were there.

People see through the flimsy facade. It's really just a matter of practicing responsibility and accountability. That needs to be tried

07-11-2025 This trip to Chilis in Calallen was a BIG DISAPPOINMENT. It was a let-down from the last time we were there. This location in Calallen is subpar as compared to the Chilis location in Portland. The Chilis location in Portland is exemplary in service and food. That make a difference to us, the customer.

At the Calallen location...

1. Slow service as to drink refills, check on table. Again, remember its 2:30-3 pm, not the lunch crowd.
2. Food (french fries) were less than warm. Ordered crispy chicken sandwich and had quite a bit of grizzle. Wife ordered Smash burger and it was burnt to the point of hard at/around the edges, although she was hungry and ate most of it anyways.
3. Couldn't even get help with a to-go box so I had to get up up ask the young man that greets and seats people in the front for help. Although he was on his phone, he was able to get a box for me.
4. Service: Was surprised the young man in front that seats and greets people stayed leaning up against his podium and looking at his phone. Seems like there is some work that he can do other than that.

We frequent the Portland Chilis location a lot as Portland has other places we also need to go based on where we live . When we are in Portland, we eat at the Chilis there because of the food quality and service. Their service at the Portland location is top notch. If they don't have anything to do, they are wiping tables, adjusting chairs etc, service to the table is prompt and efficient, no waiting or looking for the server.

The food is hot. All of this, the service and the food makes the difference. Portland Chilis has it down RIGHT, you not too much!

As a suggestion, maybe your management needs to go to the Portland location and train/take lessons from them, that is, if you want to better yourselves.

We will steer clear of the Calallen location based our experience as noted above and will NOT...

Food was outstanding. Place was busy. Our server, while very nice, did not know the menu, and after we placed our orders kept coming back to tell us certain items were no longer available. We waited more than half an hour for water and drinks. 45 before we got to place our orders, and when they came out after another 45 min, several dishes were wrong and one of the entrees hadn’t been entered. We only got our food because a second server finally checked on us and went to get them. We never got a refill on waters which we asked for. After waiting so long to place our dessert order we finally wanted the check and couldn’t flag the server down. I approached the front desk who were on their phones, to get our ticket. When it arrived it was for the wrong table. Again, unable to flag down the server. After 15 min I was able to get another server, who said they would be back with our correct bill. He took the ticket to one of his tables and never returned. After another long wait, and still no sign of our server I approached the boys at the front desk again, who were still on their phones, yet courteous when I interrupted their game time. At this point, we had been there for several hours and I just wanted to speak to a manager in order to get our bill. He came up promptly, had already spoken to our server, and I have never been so impressed. He was very professional, and took full responsibility for the lack of service we had experienced, and apologized. And after that, instead of giving us the correct bill he completely wrote it off. I ordered the Ranchero Chicken tacos only because the menu said it came with a jalapeno aioli. When I got my tacos there was none on them so I talked to my waitress and she said she would let the kitchen know. She came back and said that they no longer make the aioli and that she wasn't sure why it wasn't taken off of the menu. Later the manager on staff, Chase, came to our table and asked if everything was okay. We brought to his attention that they have the jalapeno aioli on the menu but don't make it anymore. He apologized for the problem and though I told him it was no big deal he offered to go into the kitchen and personally make me some and also added an extra order of tacos to go with it to make up for the mistake. I kindly accepted and also told him that I was more concerned about someone going and ordering the same tacos and then having the same problem he said he could understand the concern and said they will fix it.
