⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Unique Dining Experience Blending Great Food, Nostalgia, and Live Entertainment Mesquite Street Pizza offers far more than your average pizza night—it’s a vibrant, memorable destination that combines flavorful food with a welcoming, character-rich atmosphere and unexpected entertainment. From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the nostalgic charm of the space. The walls are filled with vintage decor, personal messages, and character, and one particularly fun feature stood out: guests are invited to sign their name directly on the brick wall. It’s a lighthearted, interactive touch that instantly makes you feel like part of the Mesquite Street family. Adding to its unique identity, the restaurant features a full comedy club upstairs, and a performance stage on the main floor where they regularly host live shows and well-known comedians. This truly makes it more than just a restaurant—it’s an entertainment venue and a local hotspot for laughter, live performances, and community vibes. Whether you’re there for the food or a show (or both), it delivers on experience. Our server, Natalie, provided outstanding service. She was not only attentive and professional but also incredibly helpful when it came to offering recommendations—not just from the menu, but also for things to do around Corpus Christi. Her local insights and friendly demeanor made our evening even more enjoyable. As for the food, we sampled several items: • The pizza was excellent—crispy on the outside, soft inside, with a great balance of toppings and cheese. A standout. • The house salad was fresh, well-portioned, and nicely dressed. • I also tried the spaghetti and meatballs, which, while decent, wasn’t quite as bold or flavorful as expected. The sauce was milder and less tomato-forward than I prefer, though the meatballs were cooked well and nicely textured. Parking was also surprisingly convenient for a downtown location. I was able to pay just $1.50 for two hours at a nearby meter, which was more than enough time for dinner and made the entire visit smooth and hassle-free. In summary, Mesquite Street Pizza is a Corpus Christi gem. Between the welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, great food, and the added bonus of live comedy and entertainment, it offers a well-rounded and memorable night out. I’ll absolutely be returning to explore more of the menu—and hopefully catch a show while I’m at it.

Let me start by saying - don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Upon entry, the inside dining has a hole in the wall type of feel, and isn’t by any means trying to put off a high end vibe. That’s ok. There is a bar if you partake. It’s a laid back and gritty atmosphere. Hostess had a table cleaned for us and we were seated and greeted in an appropriate amount of time. Now the food - if you are hungry when you arrive, you won’t be when you leave. There are many options and it’s more than just pizza. My wife and I, a party of two , started off with the BBQ bacon cheeseburger fries as our appetizer. This is a huge plate of fries and it was AMAZING. We were so impressed With it, the fries seasoned well and crispy , a whole Cheeseburger patty on top, bbq sauce drizzled and a rich creamy cheese sauce and bacon - this plate of fries was HEAVY and honestly we were both full after just the fries. We were too gung ho and ordered an 18” pizza as the entree and should have gotten a 12”. I’m telling you don’t underestimate the fries. The pizza we got was the lasagna pizza which had sliced homemade meatballs, mozzarella cheese, and ricotta and marinara sauce dollops. The crust was great and had that nice cornmeal grit in on it. I was very impressed with the food quality. My only advice is - if eating for two and ordering one of the loaded fries as a starter - DONT order an 18” pizza unless you plan on taking at least half the pizza home with you. The price was high for two drinks , the fries and the large pizza , but I’d gladly pay that again for the quality and fullness I received.

Awesome pizza! We ordered the Lasagna pizza, it was delicious! It feed our family of 4. We order fried pickles and wings. The hot wings were awesome and big, our kids even enjoyed them. The fried pickles were good but they are pickle chips not spears, the kids said they were delicious. My youngest also order the kids spaghetti, this is a great price for the amount of you get in the bowl. Husband got the “Game over drink” it was pretty good too! Next time I’ll get the mayo margarita those looked good. Service was great, food was delicious. Everything is made fresh so be aware that you will have to wait which we were fine with because the food came hot and not cold. Our price was pretty high around $70 but if hadn’t gotten appetizers it would’ve been less. We got the bigger pizza which was $26.

Ordered pizza to go..waited at the bar while order was being made. Paid for beer and grabbed pizza and left. When I arrived home order was made incorrectly. I called and spoke to night manager. Super apologetic, and assured me I would receive refund for larger pizza. Night manager asked for photos because owner would want to verify order was made incorrectly. No problem sent photos. Next day no refund was made no call was returned. Called spoke to night manager again and she stated she spoke to her manager and would have her call me back. No word from manager. Called following two days and nothing. From reviews it’s apparent food is good which it is but don’t run into problems because it will result in a rebuttal response without a not so sincere apology. To his day I received no call from manager/owner however I did receive $7 and some change credit on the pizza I ordered that they messed up on. This isn’t the first time I’ve run into problems. I figured the first was short handed staff. Food is good it’s a shame owner doesn’t have a better repport in handling unforeseen circumstances.

*replying to your reply

Since you asked the question what else can we do? let’s start by the first word in your sentence “Well” not the smartest way of showing sincerity. Second even though the pizza is good it isn’t what we ordered, it could’ve been incrusted in gold but that doesn’t matter, the order was wrong. The 12’ pizza we ordered was a cheese pizza, the 18’ was a speciality pizza with 3 toppings.. so as you can see there’s a huge difference. How you guys figure $7 credit is substantial from a 12’ cheese pizza to an 18’ speciality pizza is mind blowing. Furthermore, it takes 10 minutes to post a reply on this app, it would’ve taken less time to kindly return my call and explain the 3-5 day credit and the difference in price. Jessica assured me someone would be calling. So I waited and waited and then decided to take the mishap to your review page and as I can see it worked. It’s okay to mess up but to clearly argue about why you messed up is a clear indication you don’t really care. “Well” I guess I’ll...

My family and I had visited this place over a year ago. We fell in love with their pizza. That comes from someone who loves pizza and this place left its mark on my family because it was actually really good and it had a nice environment. Well, yesterday after we hadnt been there in a good while decided we wanted to go, but it was not what I remembered it being. I looked at my husband and he new right away I wasn’t happy with the taste, he wasn’t happy neither and he’s someone that isn’t picky. Idk what they did to their ingredients but it wasn’t worth the money we spent it was a huge let down. Not sure if I can actually recommend this place or would want to go back if the pizza will continue to taste nasty the way it did. Only two stars because the Cesar Salad tasted good but pizza was just horrible.

Response back to the “Manager”

First, why would you take a look at your cameras if you have no clue who I am or what I look like. Second we paid cash so looking at a receipt do you really think that’s going to tell anything! Come on be real and yes I was at the right place I even took a picture of my daughter with her root beer float and in the back of her even shows your sign on the barrel on stage where the comedians do their shows. So yes, I was at the right place, I’m not an idiot I know where I was at and that was your place. Like I said in my post that I hadn’t been there in a while but the pizza was definitely not as good as it once was I’m sorry if I’m telling the truth about what y’all made but that day when we went it wasn’t good and especially for the price we paid. I wouldn’t have minded paying what we did without any complaints if only that pizza actually tasted good. Not what we expected! Now you get a 1 star because you had the nerve to question if I was even there like if I’m some idiot! Your place was my favorite pizza place but this last time didn’t make a good impression. Sorry for...
