Check in was bad. 1 person at the desk who was overwhelmed and trying to juggle people and the phone. They could not find my registration and said I dont have one under my name. I booked directly on the hotel's own website, not a 3rd party site. They asked if I made it under another name like I was the one confused and wrong. Dont blame customers when the workers dont know how to use a computer. After clicking around more then the desk person magically found it. They explained nothing about the hotel. He explained nothing about the high floor guarantee, nothing about the $20 upgrade possibilities that I paid for. Nothing about hours for pool, breakfast, gym, what floor the restaurant is on, etc. They gave me floor 11, but did not explain what a high floor was. I had the high floor guarantee. It seems they put us on a dog floor, dogs were barking as you walk down the hallway and people were walking dogs to rooms. I do have dog allergies and they never asked if I could be around dogs. They also did not tell me that you need to make a reservation for breakfast or how that worked. They also kept saying my checkout was at 11am when I paid for 2pm. The room was fine for being an older hotel, but no refrigerator. I had a choice between this one and holiday inn down the street and I choose omni thinking it would be nicer hotel. I regret my choice. The pillows and blankets were great, bed was comfortable. Room seemed clean. No chair on the balcony. In the morning we went to breakfast at 9am and the hostess said we had to wait unless we had a reservation. I explained I paid for the breakfast package with my room so I had a reservation in the package. Again, no one explained online or at checkin to make a reservation for breakfast. There were 20 empty tables right next to the hostess stand and they were making people wait for a buffet. That makes no sense, why not use all the extra tables. Part of the reason we choose this hotel was that it had breakfast. Cheaper hotels do not make you wait for breakfast buffets when that is included. I paid extra for a breakfast package and had to wait. I would have made a breakfast reservation if someone told me to. We were now rushed for our day because we had to wait. Then all the food in the buffet was cold. The buffet had several induction heaters for pots and each pot was cold. Either the induction heaters were broken or the pots were not made for them. So all the eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, and gravy were all very cold. Why was no one taking temps of the food to ensure it was safe and fixing it. The only food that was hot was the potatoes and oatmeal that had flame burners under them to keep them hot. When we sat down the server ask for drinks, we ordered coffee and milk. He never brought any of the drinks to us. Please buy a new toaster that works faster like a normal toaster. Fix your checkin, if you are too busy to explain the rules, amenities, and that you need a breakfast reservation then hang up a sign and put it on your website. Put a flyer in each room explaining this. Dont offer high floor guarantees if that is not actually guaranteed. Explain if a floor is a dog floor and if we need a different floor. Maybe have a check box on your reservation stating to request a non-dog floor. Tell people that they need a reservation with breakfast in the description of the breakfast package and say what floor the restaurant is on. Remind them at check in to make a breakfast reservation now if they need one. Fix your buffet to have real steam trays, easy to use lids that self close, and take temperatures like you are supposed to. Dont just sit out pots of cold food. You have everything to be a great hotel and your delivery of what you have is a failure. I dont get why put all the effort into this hotel for the hard parts and just fail at...

First night was rough as the AC blew hot air at 65-70 degrees. Before leaving for the day’s activities, I asked the front desk that maintenance take a look at the thermostat. She mentioned something about using the balcony door but stated that she would send someone up to inspect. Upon arrival to our room, the AC was set at 60 and felt nice and cold. Despite my sleepless night, there were no further issues with the AC.
I addition, I elected to have extended checkout at 2 pm knowing that our plans for that day would probably have us out past the normal checkout. Sure enough, we arrived to the hotel at appx 1:15 pm, which would have given my daughter and I enough time to shower and leave since our stuff was packed and ready to go prior to leaving that morning. We arrived at the door only to find out that our key had already been deactivated. Using the hallway phone, I inquired about my key. The woman who answered said that she would contact the front desk. I opted to go down there myself instead and I let the gentleman at the front desk know the situation. He took my key, punched in some numbers, slid the card through a separate machine and handed it back to me. I took this back upstairs only to find out that it still was not working. I then used the hallway phone to call again and let them know what was happening. The operator stated that she would contact the desk and they would send someone. We waited out in the hallway until someone finally arrived and opened the door. By this point it was already appx 1:35 pm. My daughter went in to shower first and i immediately afterwards. While i was drying off, housekeeping knocked on the door, came in to the room, and apologized to my 10 year old saying that she thought we had already checked out. Of note, i had elected to forgo housekeeping in exchange for the donation to the food bank, so no one from housekeeping had any business going in there until after my 2 pm check out. We finally arrived to the front desk at exactly 2 pm. The lady at the counter opted to answer the phone instead of greeting me. By her responses I could tell that it was a staff member complaining about a guest who hadn’t checked out, someone from the 6th floor. “They need to be out of the room, PERIODT!” was her response to the person on the other line. She then hangs up the phone. “May I help you?” “Yes,” I respond. “I was in room 642, is there anything I need to do for check out?” Without looking at her screen, she replied affirmatively, there was a balance on my account and there was no card on file. I told her that I had used a cc to book my reservation online and that this was taken and confirmed at check in. After asking for clarification, she proceeds to enter my information in the computer, do some scrolling, and then say “I apologize, we actually owe you some money” (deposit minus parking). “I need more caffeine” was the poor excuse given.
I have to say that the young lady that checked us in was very friendly; she maintained a friendly tone and made conversation throughout. The young lady at checkout could really use some customer service skills especially when giving staff orders about a guest that was more than likely standing in front of her. In addition, checks should be in place for guests that have elected to check out late. All staff, from housekeeping to front desk should be made aware so that no...

*checking in they hold the amount for your room PLUS $100 a night per room … cash app cards are NOT ALLOWED .. We don’t like to use our bank card if we don’t have to, so thank God we have both so don’t take a cash app card because you can’t use it
*Balcony is 5 inches wide , you are NOT able to smoke on them. Smoking is only allowed in the parking garage *the phone service was HORRIBLE in our room and they charge you for Wi-Fi which isn’t good either *parking is $27 a day per vehicle the rooms DO NOT have a microwave, BUT they have a few so if you want one I recommend requesting it when you reserve your room breakfast is NOT included with the room, you have to purchase the breakfast package or pay $20 each to eat it *they don’t let you use the carts to move your stuff from your car to your room, THEY DO IT ( of course to get tipped, I’m not sure if they charge a fee to do it ( you might want to ask upon arrival)
Things I loved about our experience
*The SERVICE WAS IMPECCABLE
*concierge brought us a complimentary dessert just out of the blue to say thank you for celebrating your anniversary with them.. it was chocolate cake balls with whip cream and a card *Room service was DELICIOUS my husband and I both ordered a club sandwich and it came with a side , the club sandwiches were HUGE and my side was baby carrots and asparagus and they were DELICIOUS ( the bill for that was $45 not including tip just incase anyone wanted to know)
Let’s talk about the Republic of Texas on the 20th floor
Aaron the bartender was AMAZING I had a cucumber martini and a pain killer and my husband had 2 Michelob ultras and that bill was $45 ( not including tip) then I had a shot of Don Julio 1942 and it was $40 The food Ken was our server and he was AWESOME as well and he suggested we do the shareable ribeye which was $81.. when we got the steak I don’t think it was very big especially not for $81 it was 90%fat everything is sold al a cart ( separate) there was just a hint of salt but that’s it no flavor I guess because I’m use to eating steaks cooked with mesquite on a real grill We shared the sides because Ken said they are big enough to be shared ( and they were) so we got asparagus and mashed potatoes which was ($14) *asparagus tasted like they were steamed with water only no flavor NADA just plain wet asparagus *mashed potatoes looked and tasted like instant potatoes again no flavor I LITERALLY ONLY ATE 1 asparagus and 1 bite of mashed potatoes *house salads were AMAZING ($14 each) I asked about the lobster tail because the price isn’t on the menu and he said they are $11 an ounce @14 oz which comes out to $160 FOR A LOBSTER TAIL ( NO THANKS) *grilled shrimp was DELICIOUS ( forgot the price of them )
*Ken brought us out a complimentary scoop of chocolate mousse with a candle fur us to blow out for our anniversary which I thought was very sweet
the view wasn’t very breath taking like they advertise especially because the windows they sat us in front of were pretty dirty
That’s about all I can think of.. I hope this...
