We went for the family fun art day, it was great. Then afterwards we walked around observing the beautiful art that is displayed. My daughter and I noticed a unique piece and as I was admiring it with my daughter the lady behind the reception desk by the family art room suddenly yelled at me not to touch the art. Her tone was agressive and extremely rude. I explained I was not touching, it was clear and apparent that I was not touching the art, and also she had just heard me tell me tell my 5 year old daughter to keep her hands in her pockets and not touch anything so her reaction and comment was uncalled for. She repeated again that I should not touch the art, again in a rude and aggressive tone. I repeated again that I was not touching simply pointing. She then proceeded to seemingly take a cardboard (or something) to a room near where we were walking around and made me feel as though she was following us around. Again a action uncalled for. This a beautiful place in an amazing location full of amazing works of art that allow the public to see them at no cost at all, but the art director should speak to the employees about how they speak to the patrons, or potential customers. I noticed many beautiful peices for sale, I could have been a potential customer looking for some art to purchase, or perhaps wanting to make a donation (as I noticed the center takes donations in order to keep their doors open and I'm sure to fund thier many events such as family fun day) and this employee could have caused me to change my mind with her...
Read moreWe had so much fun attending the clay magic class with Nichole and Adam on Sept 29. Bummed that we couldn’t take our project home that night, but we understand it has to go through the drying/kiln process and we could pick up our projects in 2-3 weeks. It has now been over 3 weeks and I’ve had to call twice for updates. Today when I called I was told that our projects hadn’t even been fired yet because the kiln was backed up with “community stuff” … whatever that means… we paid for this class so I don’t understand why our projects were put on the back burner. I was so excited to take this class again and promote it to everyone in the area but now, I would not recommend it. I understand delays happen, but the communication is severely lacking with this class. Update: We received notification on 10/24 that our pieces would be ready for pickup beginning 10/27. When we arrived, two of our pieces were missing. Since the people who run the class don’t work for the art center, no one was there to help us. I immediately emailed the instructors, but it is now two days later and I’ve not...
Read moreAlthough the outside wedding area is absolutely beautiful, the service is very poor. The staff is super slow when it comes to helping guests or the family that hired them. Reception to sit down dinner was not a smooth transaction in fact it took staff to long to get everything situated because there was only 3 of them to move 17 tables and put back the chairS to that table. You have an hour to clean up after your event, which would be okay if staff was on top of their job and cleaning up the tables afterwards. Also manager of the event should be more involved making sure the client stays happy and has everything they need. She sat down the whole time and when asked for necessary items to clean it was like she was bothered. Almost wished she would have chugged that mixed drink the bartender made her maybe then she’d loosen up and lose the chip on shoulder. So just to sum it up beautiful venue invest in better staff who are professionals and actually enjoy helping brides make her wedding dreams come to life as this is what...
