Read moreYes this is a "statue" that's Supposed to look like Selena (Texas' #1 BEST bilingual Singer) but i DoN'T think it looks like her, Maybe just a wee bit but NOT too much. The Dedication for her is what counts 'cause WE ALL Do MISS her SO MUCH. 😢 💔 I've been Singing for over 30 years And how i WISH to GOD that i could've been born with 1/4 of her BEAUTIFUL Talented Voice (IF Only, * sigh *), and at least Thank GOD that she and i DON'T use a.i. Nor auto tune. LoL. 😋 At night, the neon colors change and they have a small pre-recorded device where you can hear a "Narrator" say a few things about her life and/or you can hear her songs Too (it's outside by the waterfront so there's NO charge to go in). It was a Beautiful sight to see the full moon on that day in the background, when i took My FIRST trip ever (in July 2025) to Lovely Corpus Christi (which i WILL go back some day, and R.I.P. to ALL of the victims 😢 💔 in that awful Texas flood). WE NEVER know Why the Kind, Good and Honest people leave this World, for ONLY GOD knows Why, but i Still Love GOD and i Do give Him Thanks for ALL that He Gives Me (the good and the bad). AMEN. So once again, R.I.P. to All of the victims 🕯 in July of 2025 and to Texas' BEAUTIFUL Tejano Queen-- Selena...
Read moreWhile staying at the Omni hotel in Corpus Christi, Texas recently, we were told of three "must see" statues nearby. My wife and I drove down the street a short ways and visited a beautiful memorial to a young lady who was so wrongly taken from all of us. The Selena memorial is beautiful. Her story plays continously, alternating in Spanish and English. It is a very nice tribute to her talent and her life. A few more blocks and you see a large and powerful work of "Jesus Calming The Sea". Again, its hard not be moved by the strength and comfort you feel while looking at His outstretched arms. And a little farther you find a more recent reminder of our dedicated defenders of our wonderful country. Set at one of the benches and gaze at the likeness of a heroic young pilot who volunteered to take part in our most recent war. Read about his small son and daughter who was not yet born when he gave his life. I encourage you to visit all three of these magnificent tributes. They make you feel more...
