1 hr & 25 min. visit. Food was delicious. Service was a bit lacking. The day we went it was 6 of us. It was Saturday, May 10th (Mexican Mothers Day) so we were out celebrating me. There was only 1 customer inside the establishment. There was lots of seating and lots of parking. Establishment looked empty from the outside, at first we thought it was closed. Only 3 people were on shift, two men and 1 woman. It looked like it was a young man and mom duo. The other man was a few years older but probably no more than 42 years old and he was the one handling the cash register / taking orders. The person taking my order wasn't per say mean or rude but I sensed like a he may have been tired, or overwhelmed, maybe like "I want my shift to end already" type of emotion, sort of like in an annoyed mood. Anyway, they all seemed stressed. I over heard someone say "always me, always, how come I have to do everything, it's always me." Our food took a while to come out. We ordered hummus with naan, The Sufi Trio platter, The Nazar Chicken & Beef platter, an order of fries, and a chicken naan pizza. About 15 min after ordering the fries came out first and they had good seasoning. About 5 minutes later the hummus and naan came out. The naan was so soft and delicious, we all loved it, especially my kids. The hummus had a great taste but it was a bit too grainy for my taste. I'm used to a bit more smoother/more pureed hummus. It was delicious nonetheless. The platters followed after 8 minutes. Out of the 2 we liked the Nazar Chickens and Beef platter the best. They were both delicious though. After about 5 more minutes the naan that came with our platters was brought to our table. 7 minutes after that our chicken naan pizza was brought. We ate for about 30 minutes and prior to finishing completely I stood up to purchase 3 Shahi Kulfi. They are like ice cream bars made with full fat milk. At this same time I ordered a chai tea and the first thing the cashier said was "It's gonna take a while" I proceeded to tell him that it was ok because we weren't in a rush. Now going back to the ice cream bars, we got original flavor (sort of tastes like vanilla), strawberry and cholocolate. We were first timers trying these ice cream treat bars. At first it was "different" and new to us due to the texture and the extra rich milk. After a few minutes, once it started melting, it started tasting batter because the texture changed. Over all we would buy the Shahi Kulfi ice cream bars again. In order of best taste for us, we rated chocolate #1, strawberry #2 and original #3. While we ate our ice cream bars I waited for my chai tea, it took them 25 minutes to get it out to me. Why??? While we waited for it, I over heard the cashier saying that they had a lot of mobile app food service orders. While I waited for my tea, a few people, I counted 5, an older couple and a family of 3, formed a line and no one acknowledged them for a about 6 minutes or so. When they finally got acknowledged the cashier told them that it was over a 45 minutes wait for the orders to come out, the older lady looked shocked, he asked if they wanted to stay but they said no. The long wait was due to mobile app food service orders. The family of 3 followed. They all left.
While I still waited for my tea, a young couple to my right was waiting on the rest of their order, it took a while for them to get it, probably about 15 minutes. When the order came out it was brought to my table, but I told them it wasn't mine, so the young man proceeded to ask the couple if it was theirs. It was. 5 min later is when I got my chai tea and we left. The chai tea does not come sweetened, beware if you like it sweet.
Overall, based on food taste I would return or order food from this establishment. I just wish they had more than 3 people working shift IF it's a usual occurrence that there is a high volume of mobile app food service orders. Let's not forget about the actual customers in the establishment that will sit there, eat, hear and see all that's going on, an then...
Read moreDO NOT ORDER ON THEIR WEBSITE!
We ordered delivery on the Sufi Kabob website. There was a banner for free delivery for orders over $50 on their website, so naturally we wanted to take advantage of this vs using a third party delivery service with additional charges (ie DoorDash, UberEats). Upon completing the order, we got a notification the order was received and would be delivered in about 45 mins. Cool.
After an hour and a half, we called in to ask for the status of the delivery. They said the food had been ready for at least 25 mins, and they were waiting on a delivery driver from one of the third parties to come pick it up. When we explained that we did not use a third party service but put it in on their website, they were confused and said they don’t do delivery. After going back and forth for a few minutes, we asked if we could just get a refund. They told us no. Then we asked how they were planning on getting us our food. After the team member talked to the manager, they said they would deliver it to us right away. 45 minutes later, we had our food. So order was made at 7:30, ready at least by 8:30, delivered at 9:45 - cold of course.
If they had shown an ounce of customer service or apology for the mishap, I would not be posting this. It’s really a shame because I had heard such good things about their food. But I will not...
Read moreFamily of 6 went to dine in at this cafeteria style restaurant based on menu and reviews during our trip to CC. Food: we ordered chicken lamb paneer kababs, Veggie naan pizza, mango lassi.
The chicken and lamb were delicious. The salad that came was not seasoned at all. The paneer was burnt. Falafal not so very tasty. Mango lassi was fresh and delicious. Naan bread was delicious.
The worst part was the service and ambiance. Digital menu board and prices, yet there was a sign that due to supply chain issues the prices were going to be higher - which they were by $1-$2 per dish. Was charged a 5% service fee without any notice and then was prompted for a 18% tip at checkout. Why is there a service fee when there is a prompt for tip?
The paint on the walls were peeling. There were notices everywhere about who is allowed to enter, using the right cups for soda. We understand that business need to protect themselves against people taking advantage of them but having multiple signs on door and the walls put us off.
The restaurant was understaffed. The bathroom was locked.
Overall a miserable experience, uneven food quality. Such a waste of location and opportunity to be a great...
