Since moving to Corvallis, Coffee Culture has been my number one coffee shop. My girlfriend and I absolutely love it. However when it comes to the downtown location, the last handful of times were honestly horrible. Yesterday we ordered our coffee through the Joe app and both requested soy. When we came to pick up the coffee and our zen rolls, i asked the little blonde girl to heat up the rolls and she appeared to be super irritated by the request. The girl on bar with red and black hair was rolling her eyes and just seemed like she hated being there. After trying my coffee, i realized that it was not soy milk but instead actual milk. After years of not being able to drink milk you get very good at being able to to spot it. It also helps that i was a barista for 6 years. Anyways, i went inside and asked for the drinks to be remade and the girls told me no. They said they absolutely put soy in both of our drinks. I brought up that i had a dairy allergy and would feel better if they were remade, because they tasted like 2%. They both hesitated while telling me they were sure about the soy and would not be remaking them. I was super frustrated and had to drive all the way to the Kings location to get it fixed. Once i got the actual soy drink it tasted WAY different and much better. I continually have terrible experiences at the downtown location and the majority of the time, it’s so disappointing. They refused to make my drink, but i just didn’t want to be sick for the...
Read moreI have been an espresso drinker for more than 20 years any customer of Coffee Culture for nearly 15. I took my family in this morning to get our morning coffee before the Saturday market and watch the "barista" hand tamp coffee grounds with her fingers. I'm not talking brushing a few grounds off of the edge, I'm talking four fingers pushing the coffee down, every single shot. She was also touching her clothing, her glasses, her hair, milk cartons and other items in the store. I quietly and under my breath mentioned that it's not sanitary to use your fingers in someone's coffee. I was met with attitude from all three Baristas who explained to me that they wash their hands BEFORE THEY START THEIR SHIFT and, "that's how we do it here." I know better....
Read moreWas there on a Sunday morning, got a few nasty stares from the barista/cashier. Not sure if it’s because I forgot to add “can you” a second time to my order? “Can I get a mocha frost, and make it less sweet than usual?” She stood there for a sec, staring at me before saying, “okay.” Then gave me another look while I was paying on the machine. Then a third look while she was blending the drink.
The mocha frost ended up having a hint of either pumpkin or chai mixed into it, which I didn’t mind, but still a little off from what I ordered.
I’ve been here a few times and never had any issue with service, but this was a turn off. Won’t be returning. I’m sure that barista won’t be missing me, but the feeling goes...
