If you’re in the mood for some comfort food with a twist while exploring the city, 4 Chicken and Waffles is a spot you might want to check out—though be prepared for a bit of a hidden adventure getting there. Tucked away at the bottom of a long staircase, the eatery is essentially a window in a hallway, giving it that secret hole-in-the-wall vibe that’s both intriguing and memorable. It may not look like much at first glance, but sometimes the best finds are off the beaten path.
The dining area is pretty small—intimate, you could say—which makes it great for a quick bite or a low-key hangout. There’s also a gated-off space nearby that seems to be a closed party room, adding a quirky layer of mystery to the venue. You can tell the place has potential for a fun, social atmosphere, even if it’s not fully in use at the moment.
Now, let’s talk food. The chicken and waffles? Solid. The chicken was crispy, the waffles fluffy, and everything came out hot and fresh. While the flavors hit the right notes, we couldn’t help but feel the price was a bit steep for the overall quality. Not bad by any means—but a few dollars less would make the experience feel more balanced. That said, the staff really made the visit enjoyable. They were friendly, down-to-earth, and genuinely seemed to care about the customer experience.
Overall, 4 Chicken and Waffles is a unique, tucked-away spot that offers a warm meal and welcoming service. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area and want to support a local gem with...
Read moreI really wish I remembered to take a picture. I admit though that I opened my meal up on the way home, someone else was driving and dug in. It wasn't until I sat down after with a pleasantly full belly that I thought a picture would have been nice. This is my second meal from 4 Chicken and Waffles. It really is SO GOOD!!! I have had their spicy chicken and their regular. Both amazing. It may sound weird to mention but their coleslaw is also to die for, it is so creamy. It is currently the only thing left from my meal and I am having to fight my cat for it now. Last time we also got some of their bacon. I am pretty picky about my bacon. This did not disappoint. Thick and chewy, no spots underdone, nor overdone. I haven't had good fried chicken in the 15 years I haven't been able to have gluten, so this is an amazing treat. I have a feeling this is going to become a go to place for my family. Not only is the food amazing but it is not easy for me to find a place where I can eat. It is really really good. I don't think I could...
Read moreAs of 6/15 the hours are indeed 11-6 Fri/Sat only (I think the website had different hours posted so I wasn't positive on that). Keep in mind that you'll walk down a flight of stairs from the entry but there is an elevator to the left as you walk in. It's also very much a take out place - there are 2 tables there but it's first come first serve for those. Just good to be aware of, we were able to get one but we didn't have a backup plan in case it was full up.
Now, the food - I've had my fair share of chicken & waffles and this is right up there with some of the best I've had. Gluten-free doesn't mean anything to me, but for those for whom it's important it's a big deal and I'm always impressed when I can't tell it's gluten-free. The bacon version was fantastic and I sampled some of my wife's cinnamon ans sugar waffle which was equally tasty. Big fan...
