I could rave about Inkwell all day. It's fantastic to have a local shop that provides high-end kitchen tools (excellent knife selection and sharpening available). Their gifts and housewares are all fun, beautiful, and high-quality. They have great cards (birthday, holiday, etc), some which are locally made. They offer free gift wrapping and it is gorgeous every time. They check on the type of occasion and were even able to offer an appropriate wrapping paper for a sympathy gift (good variety of options). The gift wrapping takes about 10-15 minutes, so plan to browse the shop a little longer or swing by Bookbin around the corner while you wait. There is a furniture store as part of Inkwell and they have amazing high-end furniture. Modern and stylish. They have candles, puzzles, childrens' gifts, bar tools, serveware, kitchen appliances, cookbooks, backpacks, jewelry, sweatshirts, the aforementioned cooking knives, pots and pans, thermoses, the list goes on. The store is never cluttered, easy to browse, larger than it looks from the outside, and in the heart of downtown Corvallis right across from Block 15 and next to Coffee Culture. Whenever I have out of town guests, I take them here, because it's fun browsing and they have a lot of locally made wares and gifts. Good...
Read moreBought two identical Stressless chairs about a couple of year ago from this store. One of the two chairs had squeeking issues from the first day while the other chair was silent and worked perfectly. Twice they took back the sqeeky chair in attempts to fix by ordering parts keeping the chair each time. They kept the chair for a total of maybe five weeks over a two to three month period telling me they ordered parts each time to fix and returned saying they fixed. However they never did fix the issue and they never offered to replace the chair or ask in any way how to make the situation better.
I have since moved and just sat in the squeaky chair for the first time since the move and my blood just started boiling so to speak. The noise makes the chair almost unusable. Hence this negative review which I feel needs to be written to warn others. Why they didn't just offer to replace the chair after the first failed attempt to fix is beyond my comprehension. Was truly a bad customer experience and feel others need to be aware of my experience with...
Read moreI’m not sure why I’m only giving The Inkwell 4 stars. They have a wonderful collection of furniture, some beautiful pieces. The Ekorness Stressless Line seems remarkable especially the Stressless Recliner. There are a vast number of Stressless Recliner knock offs these days called zero gravity chairs. The Ekorness line is handmade and originated in Norway some 30 years ago. Design Within Reach makes their own version of the zero gravity chair for a similar price. DWR’s chair is hopelessly sleek. Some of the Stressless Recliners look like something recommended by an Orthopedist and others are quite attractive not to mention sumptuously comfortable. Yes, furniture can feel so good that you can almost taste it, when well designed & Ekorness seems pretty amazing. The true test of course is to give the Ekorness Stressless a test drive of several hours. The rugs at the Inkwell looked fabulous. I could spend hours in this store....maybe that’s why I gave it 4 instead of 5. Know...
