We ordered our food to go, so we didn't spend much time in the restaurant. I was most impressed with the ceviche. Many restaurants will serve you the ceviche to-go with the fish already marinating in the lime juice sauce (leche de tigre). The problem with this is that by the time the ceviche arrives at your house it has - 1) overcooked, and 2) likely spilled everywhere. Costa is the only Peruvian restaurant I've found (and I'm Peruvian, I've tried MANY) that actually separates the leche de tigre from the fish. They even let you add salt and pepper to your taste. By the way, before eating it, you should let the ceviche marinate in the leche de tigre for 3-5 minutes - depending on how well done you want the fish. So... wow ... they know their stuff, they care, and they're thoughtful! Okay, but what about the quality? Amazing! The fish is clearly sushi grade, and GOOD sushi grade! Moreover, the leche de tigre is the best I've had outside of Peru (so far). So, 20,000 thumbs up for the ceviche. The other dishes are really good, too. Especially the arroz con mariscos and arroz chaufa, but I really wanted to rave about the ceviche.

Needed to find a place that was close to Segerstrom center. After looking at various places online the night before, this place looked like what I wanted. We started by parking in the parking garage and walked only a few steps to the restaurant. We had reservations for the 2 of us. When we arrived we were told the only tables available were outside. Not a big fan of eating on the sidewalk on a busy street with lots of cars driving by but we made do. Bummer that the tables are very close together so the conversations at other tables were a bit loud. I deducted a star for that reason on service and also one for atmosphere. I ordered a cocktail and it was just what I needed to start the evening and wind down before the show. For dinner I ordered the shrimp and risotto. It was really good. My mom got the PESCADO A LO MACHO and it looked fabulous. She ended up eating half because there was so much fish. The waiter was attentive and very friendly. I would go back but I hope to sit inside next time.

Absolutely fantastic. You can taste the passion behind each dish and cocktail. My wife and I had the original Pisco Sour and Sandia Fresca. Hector, the creator of the cocktail menu, shared his ideas and execution behind the drinks, and also allowed us to try two cocktails which will be on the menu soon (watermelon and Serrano pepper, and a pineapple mint mojito spin off). All four cocktails were absolutely out of this WORLD. Literally the best we’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced, so fresh, and ridiculously flavorful without being too sweet or obtrusive in any way. The pescado a lo macho was absolutely delicious, as was the tallarin verde con filete. Portions were excellent, and every bite was better than the last. Hector was wonderful, and accommodated us very nicely after having to wait a few extra minutes for our table. This place is busy, so make reservations, but it’s very VERY worth it.

Terrible and chilling experience in this place called Costa Contemporary Kitchen, it seemed like we were in a Cantina surrounded by the Mexican mafia, the bartender friend a drunk bar customer was speaking loud bad words in front of the patrons. We are three doctors, one male and two female, who went to this place and we would not return even if it was free. This is a place that falsely calls itself a Peruvian restaurant, when it truly is not in any way, the flavor of the dishes is not Peruvian, it is a more Mexican flavor and with a lot of MSG, in all the dishes, which is very bad for your health. . When we arrived all the tables were dirty and understaffed. When we left, the drunk client who was a friend of the bartender followed us to physically attack us for having asked him to stop shouting bad words. Obviously the bartender was also drunk since he defended his friend and acted completely rude when we asked him why he didn't tell him to stop shouting bad words, in front of the customers who were present, he pretended that I raise my voice to him and threatened us that he would take us out of the place, none of our group drinks alcohol. It was at this moment that, amazed and concerned for our physical integrity, we asked for our $117.00 consumer check, the bartender's drunk friend shouting in the room that he was going to pay our bill. Thank God that when the drunk friend of the drunk bartender chased us outside, another customer who was with his partner sitting next to us came out after him and prevented him from attacking us and a misfortune from happening. We went to this place because it had very good comments, but I want to make it clear that if this happens to doctors who are in their work uniforms, imagine what can happen to you. If you want a good quality and safe restaurant, this is definitely not it, if I could give less five stars I would have. I'm leaving this comment for the record in case another customer had a...

I had an incredible dining experience at Costa Contemporary Kitchen, and it deserves every bit of praise. From the moment we sat down, the warmth of the staff and the vibrant atmosphere set the tone for a memorable meal. Andrea was our server, and she truly elevated the experience. She knew the menu inside and out, made excellent recommendations, and her passion for the cuisine made each dish even more enjoyable.

We started with a trio of appetizers that showcased the best of Peruvian flavors. The ceviche was refreshing and bright with the perfect balance of citrus and spice. The empanadas were golden, flaky, and generously filled, and the anticuchos were tender, flavorful, and grilled to perfection. And we have to mention the salted maíz on the table – unbelievably addicting. Once we started snacking, we couldn’t stop.

For the main course, we shared several dishes family style, and each one stood out. The lomo saltado was a highlight with juicy, well-seasoned beef, sautéed onions, and tomatoes that paired perfectly with the crisp fries and rice. The chaufa was a flavorful Peruvian take on fried rice, packed with savory seasoning and delicious textures in every bite. We also loved the tallarín verde, a creamy and vibrant green spaghetti full of basil flavor that was both comforting and unique.

To drink, I ordered the chicha morada, which was refreshing, lightly sweet, and the perfect complement to the bold dishes.

Overall, the food was outstanding, the service was exceptional thanks to Andrea, and the entire experience was truly delightful. I’ll definitely be returning to Costa Contemporary Kitchen and highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic and delicious...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — A Stunning Peruvian Culinary Experience!

From the moment you walk into Costa Contemporary Kitchen, you know you're in for something special. This Peruvian gem perfectly blends tradition with modern creativity, offering a dining experience that feels refined yet warm and inviting.

Every dish is a celebration of bold flavors and fresh ingredients. The ceviche is truly unforgettable — vibrant, citrusy, and delicately balanced, with each bite reminding you why Peruvian cuisine is world-renowned. The lomo saltado arrives perfectly cooked, tender and full of depth, and the presentation across all plates is thoughtful and artful, elevating each dish into a visual masterpiece.

The cocktail menu deserves its own recognition — the pisco sours are exceptional, and the bartenders clearly take pride in their craft. Pairing a drink with any dish feels effortless thanks to the staff’s knowledgeable recommendations.

What truly sets Costa apart, beyond the incredible food, is the service. The team is attentive, warm, and passionate about sharing Peru’s culinary heritage. You feel welcomed, valued, and excited to explore the menu with their guidance.

Whether you're discovering Peruvian cuisine for the first time or you’re already a fan, Costa Contemporary Kitchen delivers an unforgettable dining journey. An absolute must-visit — I can’t wait to return!

Highly...
