Approximately two months ago, I booked an appointment with stylist OÄulcan Kaya for a gray ombrĂŠ service. During our consultation, he confidently assured me that he would successfully achieve the desired result. He informed me that the exact color might not be achieved in the first session, which I accepted.
However, after the first application, my hair turned a highly uneven and disturbing shade of orange. Despite this, he told me to come back in a month and promised that it would definitely be fixed. Unfortunately, in the second session, due to the excessive use of bleach, my hair was severely damaged and had to be cut short because of breakage and burning.
Afterwards, he gave me light dyes from the hairdresser and said that if you don't dye it at home, you can come back and I will dye it then, like a joke, why do I pay for the hairdresser if I can dye it at home?
He claimed he would repair the damage by bringing a high-quality care kit. However, the products he brought were very low quality, already opened, and appeared to be usedâwith an estimated value of less than $10. Presenting these as a solution felt dismissive and almost mocking, given the extent of the damage.
At this point, having completely lost trust in OÄulcan Kaya, I contacted the salon management. I was told that OÄulcan is an independent contractor and that the salon has no responsibility for his services or the payments made to him. I find this response unacceptable. He works under your roof, using your brand and facilities, and therefore the salon must be held accountable for any services provided on its premises.
The bleaching process not only caused permanent damage to my hair but also severely affected me psychologically. Currently, my hair is in five different colors, badly damaged, and I have not received any form of compensation for the harm done.
I demanded a refund for the service that failed to deliver the promised result, as well as compensation for the cost of treatments required to repair my damaged hair. However, the owner, Eman Yasin, dismissed my concerns by saying, âwe were not the ones who did your hair,â and left me in a completely victimized position.
I would like to state that I will be filing formal complaints with the relevant authorities. I booked a partial highlight and the stylist told me she would do a balayage effect since I didn't want immediate upkeep issues. She also said she would add a few foils underneath in case I put my hair in a ponytail. I've been getting this same service at a different salon for 10+ years, so it all sounded fine to me. Appt was supposed to take 2.5 hours, so at about 2 hours in, I noticed she was only 2/3 done foiling. I asked how much longer it would take and she said she was trying to get it done "soon". It was then that I realized she was doing a full highlight (without telling me). I told her I couldn't stay longer as I was supposed to go up to LA for a bday party. She got very quiet and all she told me was that I couldn't leave early or the color would be completely wrong.
Loooong story short, it took 6 hours because not only did she do a full highlight (no balayage effect as promised), she also used a low level bleach and it sat on my hair for 4 HOURS! My hair was the most tangled I've ever seen in my 47 years of life and WAY lighter than we had discussed. I was absolutely traumatized and afraid of how much damage had just been done to my hair.
To make matters worse, when I finally went to check out (the place had already closed and I missed my friend's bday), the owner tried to charge me DOUBLE what I had booked.
