The sign says the seat yourself, so we did. It then took about 20 minutes for someone to come up to us and ask us what we would like to drink, after saying what we wanted and showing our ID’s, 10 minutes go by and the “bartender” (different lady than the server) came to the table and very rudely asked that we pull our ID’s out again, and proceeded to check again. Now, my girlfriend and I look pretty young, so this is a common occurrence, however the attitude with which she asked was very noticeable. After that we waited another 15 minutes, mind you in this span we had watched a party of 2 arrive, be seated, get their drinks and food before our drinks finally arrived, at which time the bartender aggressively slammed them down and said “Enjoy” and walked away. At this point i hadnt even placed my food order, and i had been there maybe 35 minutes. So i decide to walk directly up to the server and ask if its because we look young that we arent allowed to receive the good service that everyone else was getting, i told her the bartender slammed our drinks down at which point the bartender came over, after overhearing, and decided to deny that she slammed the drink and give a demonstration of what it would look like if she had. After slamming down the drink again, she was asked to go to the bar by the server, at which point we begrudgingly ordered our food, experience all but guaranteed to be bad at this point. After getting the extremely poor quality food, we took a few bites and lost our appetite. The bill was upwards of $50 and they refused to take anything off despite the terrible service and our nearly untouched plates. We tried to leave $30 instead and they came out to the parking lot as i was leaving and stood behind my car, calling me a “little boy” and said they were calling the cops because we were “drinking and driving”, despite our half full margaritas still on the table. Overall this was by far one of the worst restaurant experiences ive ever had. I wish i could rate 0 stars, and i wish there was some sort of...
Read moreCame in thirsty, left with dissapointment and a bloody hand. I stopped by on a Monday afternoon for a beer and happy hour snacks. I placed my order and waited about 20 minutes just for fries. When the server bought out my order I asked for silverware and a napkin (fries were extra greasy, which was fine). I proceeded to watch the server help other guests but never received any utensils. I caught her attention and asked again for some napkins. The server literally sat and chatted with other customers and never brought out napkins or silverware. I sat and read a book for about an hour and enjoyed another beer, which I had to order from the bar, before leaving. When I was ready to leave I cut my hand on a piece of broken glass that was on the bench seats I had been sitting on. Since my server could care less about customer service I went to the bar to close my tab. I first asked for a napkin for my bloody hand and the bartender brought out my bill completely ignoring the fact my hand was bleeding into my other cupped hand. I paid and explained to the bartender that there was broken glass all around the table I sat at. He gave me a single napkin and apologized for the broken glass. As I was walking out I found my server and notified her of the broken glass around my table and she immediately got a broom and started sweeping the floor. She somehow didn't understand that the broken glass was on the seats not the ground. At this point I was simply baffled by the incompetence of all the visible staff.
I have been to the Jaded Toad before and had a pleasant experience. During my first visit our server sat at our table to take the order which was awkward and uncomfortable. Stop trying to be my friend and hang out with my table. Do your job and provide customer service, that's all. I get that you're trying to give off a friendly neighborhood vibe but actually doing your job should come first.
I will never return or recommend this...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience here. We didn't get our food until an hour and ten minutes after we ordered. When they brought out one dish, they were shocked and didn't seem to believe us that we hadn't received any food yet. They had previously tried to give us the wrong food.
The bill comes out in a wire pencil cup type thing, and you put your credit card in it. When our waitress took our cup with my card, a few minutes later we saw her and then the whole staff looking on the ground, pulling garbage out of the can, pulling dirty dishes out of the sink, looking pretty frantic. This went on for fifteen minutes or so. Finally the waitress came over and admitted she had lost my credit card. I figured I wouldn't have to pay anything at that point, but then the waitress found my card where she had spilled it out of the cup onto the ground. She quickly rushed off and charged it, giving me half off the two meals they tried to give us that were the wrong food, but nothing off the other three meals that took an hour and ten minutes to receive.
I asked to talk to the owner, and he was rude. He wouldn't refund my card and said the 50% off the two meals was all he would do. He did offer us a round of drinks, but by that point we'd been there over two and a half hours, plus we don't drink.
The food was a mixed bag. Some was tasty but the ribs were like burnt charcoal chunks and the chicken was under cooked. Tri tip, linguica, Mac n cheese, garlic fries were good. Roast asparagus with a fried egg and hollandaise sauce came out cold. No free soda refills, they are in bottles, very expensive, and the diet coke is in one of the tiny...
