I have finally decided to write a review on this Culvers location, as a result of the consistently low quality taste of food that I have received here, and sanitary concerns. My family and I love Culvers, and unfortunately the Cottage Grove location is the closest to our home. When we initially began eating at the Cottage Grove Culvers in 2017 the food was absolutely great up until around 2020. The quality and consistency of the food at this location has significantly declined over the past 3 years, and it's very unfortunate. It appears that whomever is in management now, fails to adequately train the staff on proper food prepartion. This past year the quality has been the absolute worst.
The burgers are extremely bland and flavorless, as if absolutely no seasoning is added to the patties. They are also many times undercooked, and lack a sufficient amount of condiments. I have always loved Culvers chili, but once again not at this location, as it is very bland and watery. One of my biggest concerns is the quality of the custard here, it smells horrendous like milk that has sat out overnight. I have attempted to order custard from this location numerous times, and each time the custard has a terrible stench. You will not notice this same odor from the custard at the West St. Paul and Woodbury locations. I don't believe they are cleaning their machines appropriately or thoroughly. I am honestly surprised the health department has not been alerted about this.
Overall, Culvers is a great resturant with delicious food. However, the Cottage Grove, MN location does the chain a huge disservice and does not live up to the quality Culvers is known for. I would advise anyone to choose nearby locations as opposed to this one, it is very disappointing. Hopefully management will read these reviews, and implement a plan to get this location back on the...
Read moreDisappointing when employees are so eager to close up that they don't serve the last customers in the drive thru. Literally pulled up at 9:58. Nobody answered. All the lights were still in, all the signage was on, and another car pulled up to pay and get their order. Finally after about 90 seconds, I said Hello? Woman says "we are closed". I said I have been sitting here for two minutes and nobody said anything. She responded that I didn't sit there, that I just pulled up.... yet that was not the case... she blatantly ignored me until closing time when there were still others paying and getting food in the drive thru. And there were already other cars waiting behind me as well, before 10pm. Extremely rude and completely unlike the spirit of the culture of Culver's. You don't refuse to take orders before closing time and especially when you still have all the lights on and are still serving other customers. Glad I live in the west metro near another Culver's because the employees working tonight (woman working drive thru tonight...Whoever she is) were out of line. I will happily go spend my money elsewhere. It is now 10:10 and I already drove elsewhere and had time...
Read moreOf all the Culver’s I have been to the cottage grove location is by far the worst Culver’s I have been to and it ties 1st place in town for poor customer service. I was given the wrong order going through the drive thru and ad a courtesy I called to make the manager aware of the mistake and I had no expectation to be refunded to my surprise I was told I could come back and get the right food. To my surprise I get back to the Cottage Grove location for 2nd time and am told very rudely that they were mistaken and will not be able to replace my food. The gal chuckles at me and told me maybe I should pay better attention to what someone hands me before leaving. I’m very disturbed by the attitude I was given and that the manager told me to drive all the way back and decided it would be funny to not give me the meals I paid for. I was fine staying at home and accepting mistakes happen. I have heard many fellow CG residents have had bad experiences so please write reviews so we can force our local Culver’s to hire...
