Most tacos are the same ingredients, but with a sauce variation. Ancho chipotle chicken, Baja chicken, sweet chili and Buffalo to name a few. They could just list all chicken tacos together with “chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato” as the ingredients, and then let you pick your sauce.
Unfortunately, the sauces on all the tacos we ordered were severely hot, and both my husband and I can handle, and enjoy, spicy/hot food. The sauces masked every other flavor in the tacos and still didn’t have a distinct enough flavor themselves to be worth it. It was all around boring and unfortunate.
I’m not sure why “the freshest mex” is the “thing” here because it was a store bought tortilla, the same chicken made for whichever taco you order, cheese, lettuce, and sauce. Nothing jumps out as exceptionally fresh. If you’re looking for modern takes on Mexican, try Mission Taco. If you’re looking for authentic ingredients, try Rosy and Paco’s. If you’re looking for a fun sauce variation to try on an otherwise regular taco, then Salty’s is your place.
We got the black beans, refried beans, and rice. Both beans tasted like they came straight from a can. The rice was unseasoned (but listed as cilantro lime rice) and noticeably, but not horribly, undercooked.
I wanted to think of what would give this experience 2 stars, but not even the service was good. As I was handed the menu and still setting it down, the server asked if we needed a minute to look over the menu without asking if we’d ever been before, which we hadn’t. So “yes” was an understatement. She walked away as we were answering her multiple times. Very inattentive bored server, which happens so we didn’t sweat it. But as first timers it definitely didn’t redeem the food quality enough to try again. Plus it was $13-15 for a plate of food we didn’t want to finish.
But seriously if you want tacos like your Midwestern parents made on taco Tuesday, and have no desire to have actual Mexican food, this is the...

Calling this Tex-Mex is pushing it. Its basic ingredients thrown together on a plate. There is no real flavor and it's overpriced.
The chips are just a basic tortilla chip that you would buy at a store. The salsa is mediocre.
I ordered a soda and the machine wasn't working properly. They tried several times, but the flavor wasn't working, so I said I'd just drink water. No big deal, except I was still charged for the soda.
My daughter got the kids taco and a side of beans (no charge) instead of the Queso and chips. It was $7.27. This isn't a super large taco. It's a basic soft taco. The beans were runny and inedible. My son ordered a regular beef burrito. It only had beef and rice on the inside and the beans were on the side. It was drowning in cheese that tasted like pure salt and no other flavor. The red sauce on the burrito was so sweet he scraped it off. The ground beef had zero seasoning. He is not a picky eater and he only took a few bites. His burrito was $15.28. I got steak fajitas that were drowning in oil and half burnt. Those were $19.64.
When the bill came, I noticed the prices were different than the menu. READ THE MENU CAREFULLY because at the bottom there is a note about charging an extra fee 3%+ for credit cards. You already pay too much and then get charged extra if you don't pay cash.
We took all the leftovers home and I'm hoping I can salvage something for the money spent.
I'm giving them two stars because the service was friendly, and the atmosphere is nice. The food is...
Read moreWe like to support local businesses and with Covid we started eating here. We would sometimes get curbside and other times get delivery.
I wish I could give more stars but their attention to detail is failing! I like their food but they always seem to forget items or things turn out to have different recipes.
A few weeks ago we ordered street tacos. It looked like steak, pico and some jalapenos. They did not have a green sauce on top. The next time we ordered they had some green sauce. The third time we got them, they did not have sauce. I do not know which way they are supposed to be made. It is like rolling dice.
Last weekend we ordered delivery. They forgot my kids meal and one taco. When I called the person told me that they were so busy however they would remake it and get it out to me. I agreed but when I asked how long they said deliver was running about an hour. They ended up getting the missing food to us sooner and giving us a credit for next time...
Well today was the next time and again we were missing items. I ordered fajitas and when I received my order they were missing my tortillas.
I think we have given them enough tries. I would say only eat here if you are dining in... that way you don't have to worry about...
