Probably won’t be returning to this location. We have gone to the st Charles location many times and it’s always been a great experience. The cottleville location is new and closer to where we live so we placed a mobile order today. There was no eta given so I waited and got there about 20 minutes after ordering. I gave the girl at the front counter my name and she said it would be 15 more minutes. Not a problem. I sat down and waited. I watched a lot of parties come in, order, and sit down. After about 25 minutes..I saw several people that came in 10-15 minutes after me get their food. I thought that was weird so I went to ask if maybe I missed them calling my name. The girl at the front counter was not speaking to anyone waiting. She kept walking between an iPad and the kitchen to ask questions. After 10 minutes of this, the people in front of me trying to order decided to leave since no one even acknowledged they were there. You can see their kitchen and I watched so many orders just sitting there and no one taking them to tables. There was a young guy working with long curly hair that kept running his fingers through his hair (no gloves) and then picking up calzones and setting them in boxes/on plates (luckily he didn’t touch ours or I would’ve just asked for a refund and left) he came and delivered some food to a table and a lady that had been waiting longer approached him and asked if their order was almost done as she watched 3 tables that came in after her get theirs and he just kept saying “sorry we’re just busy” to everything she said. Others were getting frustrated asking for updates on to-go desserts, boxes, incorrect orders being given to them.
Finally someone came from the kitchen with my order and I grabbed it and left. There was still a line of people behind me waiting for the girl working the front counter (or anyone) to acknowledge them and a counter full of orders that were ready but just sitting there getting cold with no one paying attention.
I completely get being busy. This wasn’t that. Everyone just seemed really...
Read moreAbsolutely love Sauce on the Side, especially the Cottleville location! Went in last night for dinner with my Husband and it was ABSOLUTELY delicious! We were greeted by the young and upbeat employees behind the counter who gave my Husband a minute or two to figure out exactly what he wanted (because he had a lot us substitutions he wanted in his Calzone). The employee was extremely patient, kind and friendly with us. Repeated back our order with all the substitutions in place and even grabbed our number for rewards which was awesome because we forgot we had those rewards. The kitchen had our food out in about 15-20 minutes which was quick in my eyes and our food was perfectly cooked and piping hot. Unfortunately my order wasn’t totally correct and I noticed about three bites in. My Husband asked the employee behind the counter who asked the Manager and I sure wish we got his name because he was AMAZING! He told me he was going to personally remake my order and if I had 10 minutes it would be ready. I waited and he delivered, it was absolutely delicious! He even let me bring home the other part of my not totally correct order since I was only missing one ingredient from my Calzone. My Husband and I will be back again and again at this specific location due to the VERY clean restaurant, the amazingly kind and patient employees and managers there! Thank you Sauce on the Side for a great date night...
Read moreI ordered the Roasty Toasty and thought it was pretty delicious. Two others with me ordered the Meet Me In St Louis. Provel cheese seemed to be the downfall for them. Personally I like the blend, but they like lighter tasting cheeses. Everyone agreed that we liked the sauces that were served. The only contact with employees was when we ordered at the register and when our order was served. The employees were friendly and helpful. The window to the kitchen area was being polished up while we ate our calzones. The restaurant looked new and clean. Basic service that you might receive at McDonald’s. But, they still hit you up for a tip when you order. This seems strange to me. However the food is served on real plates and water is served in glass, glasses. I liked it. Two people who were with me could take it or leave it. If you are looking for something that’s a little different this might be a great choice for you. I recommend the Roasty Toasty, a chicken, pesto and cheese calzone. Hope...
