The Salty Dog Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Council Bluffs

Been frequenting this location for a little bit now. It seems like it is rather busy most times. Tonight, after a looooong shift - finally was off work decided to stop by and actually dine in, I usually call it in but not tonight. Well, shoulda called it in I guess. Walked it asked one of the servers (the cool guy with gauges on his ears) “yall about to close?” Him- “no, actually open till 2 am”. “Oh gotcha,” . I noticed the place empty in the parking lot so thought maybe they would be closing soon… sat down, per usual they are pretty decent regarding the the first “greet” lady waitress asked if she could grab me a drink, I said “yah” - as she was walking away I thought, well u not gona take my order ? Again, I frequent this place with friends and alone.. so I’m sure I knew what I wanted… had my drink, finished my drink. Waited 20 min - “mgr” or whoever he is (guy with no neck) went took someone else’s order (guy walked In 5 min after I had my drink) asked him for his options/sides… walked passed me… I’m thinking “SERIOUSLY?!” Waited a quick min… still nobody awknoledged me (I’m sitting right in front of the bar!) asked for my tab since they were “too busy” to take my order… “mgr” offered to cover my drink, I asked for my tab again, paid, had to ask for my receipt too…. SMH NOT SURE IF THEY HAD A LONG DAY… like I did… but seriously 25 min and no order taken?!!!! Again I shoulda called it in!!!!! LAST TIME WE VISIT THIS PLACE!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND...

I wish I could give you guys less than one star! We were so excited to try your wings last night! We have sent you a personal email with everything wrong with our food and visit! The minute we walked in the entire bar went silent and no one would even look at us except the blonde lady that brought our food out! The bartender never once smiled or even offered any of us a drink. The entire group of people purposefully looked in the opposite direction to make it obvious that we were not welcome there! We were a mixed group of black and white. Being a white woman in my 50s, I have never experienced such an obvious prejudice treatment! I was so disgusted with your establishment! Over half the people there walked out giving us dirty looks when we walked in! The food was over 100.00 and we ordered 3 drinks while waiting for food Tried to speak and be friendly to bartender. This did not work at all. I smiled thinking maybe he was having a bad day. He would not even look at me! The fries were soggy and had been rewarmed in the grease! The wings tasted like old, dried out beef Jerry. Ordered Buffalo and BBQ sauce and did not get any sauce. Literally could not eat ANY of your food. Offered it to our Yorkie and he even refused to...

To be entirely honest it's hit and miss with this restaurant. I have been here 4-5 times. The first few times the food was great and the service was too. The last few times the food was not the best, the atmosphere was a rowdy bar and it took forever to get our food. Would I try it one last time? Sure. But it would be my absolute last choice to eat out of the few options around it. Something about it had drastically changed. And it's honestly a bummer. Because I remember when it used to be an amazing place to eat.
