Horrible experience with this location and the oak harbor location. I was trying to ship a package to Canada. I spent 1.5 hours at this location and filled out the customs forms. The employees told me they "don't know what to do" and strongly advised me to go to freeland or oak harbor location.
I drive to oak harbor location and two more employees don't know what to do. They tell me to fill out PS Form 2976-R, PS Form 6182, global express usps form. They then don't know how to fill out their portion of the form and they keep kicking me to the back of the line and having other people go infront of me. One of the workers even refused to help me and said he didn't know what to do.
Finally a woman from the back came to the front and attempted to help. I thought all was going to work. She told me I didn't even need to fill out some of the forms and the other employees were mistaken. I finally paid and left. Between both usps locations this took nearly 3 hours.
This was two days ago. Now I see the package "failed" to deliver and the story is so unbelievable the buyer for my package is questioning the authenticity of the story. There is no explanation of what happened where the mistake was made or any reconciliation. I am out the several hundred dollar shipping cost and they apparently attempted to deliver the package to me today but I wasn't there. No explanation, or notification. I have no idea where the package is now. Nobody knows what to do.
This was a very expensive item and all the addresses were filled out correctly on my end. Something is seriously wrong with usps. Several of the employees in the back seemed like they were under the influence. The workers in the front clearly had no training on shipping a package internationally to Canada. They simply do not care, and it is up to the whim of whoever is present that day as to whether you will receive the service you need. If you arrive before closing, they are required to serve you. Sending parcels to APO/FPO requires a bit of effort on their part. The postal employee did not want to input the information on the customs form, so they refused, stating “We closed at 1:00”. Keep in mind this was after arriving before closing, and standing in line. These people do what they want and are not held to any standard or accountability. Read moreRude customer service. The gentleman with glasses tall and skinny lectured me on my change of address. When I wanted to turn in my PO Box keys. He said it would take two weeks and that I couldn’t turn them in. I told him I was leaving the state and he told me it would be fine for my husband or son to turn them in since we were moving out of state. My son went and he said no! When another mail worker said that it should be okay. 🤬 not helpful at all and when I was there to turn in keys for my PO Box I should have been able to do it. Now I have to spend money to physically be present for me to turn in keys and not be charged...
