Golden Bowl — Restaurant in Covina

Golden Bowl Covina, California Hi Everyone, I am sorry that I have not posted in awhile. Thank you also for the new likes. So, who does not like Ikea? Well I love Ikea but being there that day just made me hungry so I browsed food places close by and I found this particular place. The name is Golden Bowl " Have a very Rice Day". It is only 4 minutes from Ikea, so after a 3 hour browsing spree, this place is not too far away for you to just have a quick meal. They have a drive through too just in case you are in a hurry to go back home. Parking is a little tight so drive through is an okay option. It was surprising to me when I opened the door because there was a second door, which a screen door. In a normal restaurant, they should have doors that you can push easy to open in case of emergencies. The restaurant isn't the cleanest either. They look like they do not have the care for the place. Although that is what it is, the food was inconsistent and staff was friendly. We ordered 4 things because I was really curious why these people rated the food 5 stars on Yelp. The restaurant specializes on teryaki doused meats. You can choose a plate and a bowl. The only difference between these two , is that the plate has a salad. I chose not to have a salad because I bought a dessert. I also ordered beef teriyaki with fried fish, and my husband chose the chicken teriyaki with the fried shrimp. My beef was very tender and you can tell that it was chopped up for easy eating. The portions are very good as well for the price. The fish was very good as well. The batter and fish ratio was just amazing. It wasn't lacking flavor at all .My husbands shrimp was cooked to perfection too but when I tasted it, it needed a hint of salt. His chicken teriyaki was slightly overcooked but over all it was not bad. My chocolate mouse needs more heavy cream or needs to be in a blast chiller so it can have a consistency with the texture. It almost tasted like the chocolate mousse at KFC in the Philippines (yes they have a mousse dessert ) While I was eating there, I noticed that the place was not taken cared for at all. The soy bottle has crusts on the side and the bathroom was not kept. Crusts of dirt was around the gum ball machine. Would I recommend this place? I would, but only the...

Their chicken teriyaki bowl is really good. Get the large bowl and the avocado option add on. The large is so much food that I can easily make it two or even three meals for me.

My wife got their burger once and didn't like it but we both love getting their chicken teriyaki bowls.

It's weird that it's called both Golden Bowl and Golden Burger.

They have a drive through which is great because this isn't the kind of place you think about eating inside, though they do have an inside eating area. The drive through is a bit weird because the window at the building will be on your passenger side when you pay. It's a bit awkward and very inconvenient if you're driving by yourself but they do have a tray on a long pole that can reach you inside your car to make paying easier. Though best to bring a passenger when going through the drive through.

I've had this restaurant's chicken veggie bowls a few times, and they are REALLY GOOD. Whenever I visit, there's a line for the drive-thru, so that tells you something.

Last night I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl by mistake (missed the veggies), but that was really good too. Anyway, the chicken veggie bowl is especially good with the avocado. They cut up a thick slice (not a cheapo one, since other restaurants treat avocado like it's gold)--then they fan it across the top of the bowl so you get a good chunk of avocado with every bite. Then you spread their sauce across the whole thing and it is delicious as well as healthy.

Last night I noticed they also offer brown rice. Oh--I think they also sell gyoza or some type of dumplings, and even burgers.
