Ulta Beauty — Local services in West Covina

Contrary to what a previous reviewer stated the staff in this Ulta have been superbly kind and extremely helpful with their expertise.

The few times I've stepped through their doors I've been greeted with a heartfelt hello and approached by staff who volunteered to answer any questions I've had. They've helped me with fragrance selections for gifts and for me (which turned out to be great hits), skin care solutions and with salon services.

Understandably salon services are by appointment only. Their typical salon clients are after all almost entirely female and the time required to properly service each client is far greater than a typical male cut. Additionally, the only stylist who actually specialized in men's cuts doesn't seem to be working at this location any longer. That in mind, it's easy to understand why a walk in wouldn't be able to receive immediate service. There are however, half a dozen family barber shops within a two mile radius which welcome walk in's, are expedient, very reasonably priced and also offer exceptional customer service to boot.

I don't frequently find myself in need of the bulk of their products but when I need a gift, replacement hair grooming and styling products, cologne, face cleansers, hell even chap stick, the customer service experience always makes me want to return to Ulta to provide them...

I only have one con about this store and it’s that an employee told me false information about a product saying it was k beauty Asian beauty and ect. I had a feeling it wasn’t and it’s a new product too I even asked the brand myself if they were and nope I think she lied to get me to purchase the product or maybe she just thought it was k beauty Asian beauty w.e but I doubt it ,the product was myclarins moisturizer but I went in actually to look at the new DHC thought they didn’t have it because 2 employees didn’t know what I was talking about which I finally found after I purchased because the cashier gave me a nice sample which is great so I can try it out.Not upset at that one employee who lied straight to my face but please be honest about a product don’t lie just for sales I know this con might seem kinda bad but in reality pro every single employee was super nice and an amazing help absolutely great customer service I’ve been to other ultas and they all had terrible service especially the one in firestone yuck lol I will be gladly coming back this will be my go to Ulta now they all wanted to help and recommend the best things to try thank you! Great experience and for the employee who lied to me she was amazing too just that...

A month before my wedding I made a hair cut appointment here and I really liked the stylist, I told her my wedding was in a month and that I was going to book her to do my hair and makeup for my wedding and she said okay. I made the appointment for 7.25.25 at 10:00AM and I was getting my pictures taken at 1:00PM. Since I cut my hair really short I knew it wouldn't take that long to do my hair and I wanted really simple makeup. The day of I get a call from Ulta at 8:00AM and it's a man telling me my stylist called out for the day and that they could still take me but not until 11:30AM. I told him that it wouldn't work for me because I was getting married and needed to be ready by a certain time. All he can tell me was 'sorry', I had to hang up the phone because I started crying hysterical not knowing what I was gonna do. I haven't cried that much in a very long time, I was already anxious that day and this news just set me off. I had my hair and makeup not come out how I wanted the day of my wedding and I was 20 minutes late to my photo shoot. I called probably 30 different places to see if they could take me and only 1 was available...
