Should check it out! It’s a classic by now. Great variety of stores! There are shops on both sides of the building lengthwise. Over 100. Up to 4 floors in one section and 2 floors in another. Plenty of parking. Bars/restaurants and a bank detached from main building out at the ends on the parking lot An older shopping center (opened 1957) with a lot new additions. I remember coming here with my parents as a kid. Had some good times as a young adult(not with parents)! Still use it to this day. And probably will til the wheels fall off. Not much shade outside the shops though. It gets hot on the south side facing the 10 freeway in the afternoons. Another thing i wish they’d improve Is SIGNAGE. Difficult to know where any particular business is located. And if you’re hiring a ride service you’d better give them the name of the store you’re in front of as well as the suite number and hope they Google it to find you. Otherwise you’ll be stuck. Waiting! Very frustrating when you got a buncha shopping bags in tow, tired, hot, ready to go home with no where to sit outta the sun and your driver cannot find you. While they’re sending you texts like: “your driver has arrived” (but you don’t see them anywhere.); the last thing you want to do is walk all the way to the other side of the building with all you have to carry to see if they are there; then they text “if your driver waits more than 5 minutes you’ll be charged $25 extra”; and you text back “where are you?” But the only response you get is: “your driver will be leaving soon”. Very frustrating indeed!!! I don’t know just spitting out ideas off top of my head… maybe some obvious pick up spots would help; with benches under trees/patio umbrellas; on BOTH sides and BOTH ENDS of the VERY LARGE building; with DISTINCT TITLES like NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST or WHITE RED BLACK BLUE on HUGE triangle shaped SIGNS that are EASILY VISIBLE from all directions… would be more enticing to shop there more often. And it may be too much to ask but will add anyway: include a large sign with a directional list of the businesses in that quadrant at each of the pick up spots. Wouldn’t that be great!?! Would that be too easy?!? I’m sure one day the owners will adapt, for this place has resiliency, that’s for sure! Through its near 75 years of existence, seen quite a bit of change: events, people, technology, fashion, Super Bowls, hair-do’s. If those walls...
Read moreEastland center is a good place to shop with a variety of stores and restaurants. I mostly come here for places like Target, Hobby Lobby and Petsmart, but there are many great places to shop such as Carters, Party City, Bevmo, Sally Beauty Supply, Ross, Bulington, etc. There is a BofA conveniently located in the center with drive through atm machines, and the center is located just off the 10 freeway. This center has many places to eat, Islands, Chipotle, BJ's, Chili's, Fridays, and Carl's Jr, just to name a few. The one store I am not fond of here is Walmart, which feels a little claustrophobic with it's low ceilings and 2-story design. This building used to be a Mervyn's department store, and has been taken over by Walmart. The grocery level is located downstairs which you can access by parking on the south side of the center, of by taking the elevators and escalators inside if you park on the upper level (north side). From the parking lots you may only enter the upper level with clothing, home items etc from the north side, and for the groceries you may only enter the lower level from the south side. It's not too bad to navigate on a slow day but it is chaos around the holidays. Due to the limited amount of space on the lower level this Walmart does not have as large a selection of food items as other locations, however I am sure it is convenient for those who live near by. All in all I give this center 4 stars for it's great selection of shops, with one star held back for the parking lot, which is not set up great and is usually a...
Read moreLots of shops to choose from. Petsmart, Ross, Walmart, Target, Bev Mo, Dollar Tree, Party City, Ikea (across the street), and a nice Islands Burgers Restaurant. Only bad thing is it is NOT pedestrian friendly. There is no way to get from the shops on the front of the property to the shops on the freeway side of the property without walking ALL the way around the lot - there's no passageway in the middle, and walking around takes a long time. There is no shade or covering over the sidewalk & parking lot, so it gets agonizingly hot trying to shop here during the day.
Also the public transportation around here is pretty bad. Buses are infrequent (a few only run once an hour or close to that), they show up too early or too late, the bus stops are miles apart, the bus stop and sidewalks are a serious health & safety hazard and dangerous, and there is no shuttle to the train station. A little more security would...
