I recently visited family in Covington and had a zoom webinar to attend early in the morning. I wanted some coffee and a hearty meal and found them on google. Let me tell you, they absolutely did not disappoint!!! The atmosphere is calm and cozy and I was one of the few people there early. They had lovely art on the walls and soft lighting. Rosie was my server and she was phenomenal. She made sure my coffee never went cold and got my food out very quickly.
I had a breakfast sandwich and it was perfectly cooked and very filling (the price points were great too!). My food was so good I ordered one to go for my boyfriend and he also thoroughly enjoyed it.
Once my webinar was finished I chatted with my server about the establishment and the area for a while. She was very personable and kind. I will absolutely visit again when I’m back in town.
TLDR; Amazing food, cozy atmosphere, very fair prices and...
Read moreIt has potential but missed the mark during our visit. My husband can't have gluten or dairy. Excited to try a place where we can both order off the menu without making a ton of substitutions. He ordered the GF Vegan Pancakes. Taste was good but the "pancakes" he was offered were very sad. Resembled tortillas instead of pancakes. I know GF Vegan Pancakes can be made fluffy because we make them at home. Served with a side of fruit, probably Cisco fruit. Out of season blueberries, strawberries and grapes. Butter tasted like true balance. Country crock has come out with a more tasty, spreadable vegan butter. I ordered the shrimp and grits. I'll order them on any menu I see. They were SO SALTY. The extra lemon squeezed on top made it worse. The flavor would have been much better if the BBQ shrimp and the grits weren't both salted. The toasted French bread with it...
Read moreVery impressed! We ordered the breakfast waffle with sausage and a half muffuletta with a side of the Gumbo-laya.
The waffle was completely crisp on the outside but fluffy on the inside. The honey butter was the star of the dish, very smooth, creamy, and delicious! Sausage was good quality and tasty.
The muffuletta was up there with some of the best I have had. Bread crisped to perfection, not too greasy, and a great olive mix that wasn’t over the top. The gumbo-laya was solid, but didn’t leave an impression on me like the others.
Overall, I think you would be hard pressed to beat the quality at this price point. I also really appreciated the variety of healthier options that were available when compared to your typical southern restaurant. Probably our new go-to brunch spot when visiting the...
