An absolutely perfect home-away-from-home getaway.
Upon entering, we are greeted with low lighting & chill music which immediately begins to melt away the stress of the earlier workday and the rush-hour drive from New Orleans. The tiny chalkboard welcome sign with my name on it makes me smile and is a nice little addition to the vibe that our vacation is finally beginning.
The architecture inside is beautiful: soaring ceilings, beadboard walls, huge old windows, wide plank floors. The furniture is exactly as luxe and well-maintained as you see in the photos on the website. The kitchen and bar are both very well-equipped, with just about every type of utensil and shape of glassware. And the knives are actually sharp.
We love just staring up at the huge oaks from the porch swing on the spacious deck while having our morning coffee or evening happy hour. And then, the many new & excellent downtown Covington restaurants are no more than a 5 minute walk when it's time to go out.

This place is GREAT!!!! This area of Covington is so charming. It is truly a hidden gem.
Lacroix is close to plenty of bars and restaurants...which makes it the perfect place to stay. We walked to Meribo and ate a delicious meal and then had a nightcap at the Southern hotel. This area is very walkable and safe.
The accommodations at Lacroix are great. The beds are comfortable....and the grounds are great. The owners were super easy to work with....they even gave us some recommendations for where to get a cake made for a party.

The house is over 200 years old with high ceilings, porches and a tin roof that’s perfect when it rains. It has been tastefully remodeled to provide modern comfort while keeping the original charm of a home built in 1898.
We rented all three units which gave us five bedrooms and three bathrooms. One of the bedrooms has bunks which was perfect for the grandkids. We split our time between cooking in the gourmet kitchen and walking to several wonderful restaurants nearby.
I think our favorite memories are watching the game (large screen outdoor tv) on a deck so large it has two pit groups and watching the world go by from the swings on the front porch.
Stacey doesn’t just make you welcome she thinks of thing’s big and small to make you feel at home.
