I stop by this Advance Auto Parts on my way home today because I wanted to get an oil + oil filter bundle. After walking in I was not greeted by either employees and it was no one in the store. So I proceeded to help my self by finding the oil and filter I needed base of exactly what was advertised. I get to the register the white lady with the brown bob tell me this isn’t apart of the bundle and hand me ad book. I’m like okay. Not offering any help I went to get another pair that show exactly the same way in the book. She just telling me over and over we don’t this, this , this or that. At this point I’m confused on what they do have. To make matter worst the entire time I’m trying to have a conversation with the unhelpful clerk there is a another white lady with tattoos having a full blown gossipy conversation with the lady suppose to be helping me. She complaining to the other lady about how she didn’t know she had to take truck back and the other lady like why didn’t you tell me earlier. Asking her do she want to do or does she want her to do. How it’s not her truck so how she suppose to remember so got to take it back. The brown bob lady gets on the phone in between me walking back fourth of her telling what they don’t have and start talking about the other lady she wasn’t about to walk right backin Like a lot of chatty, messy nonsense. The lady even told her we have customers and she didn’t break conversation one time. I was really just flabbergasted, I just looked at her and i walked out. Went down the down the street to Auto Zone and was out in 5 mins and meet with professional.    Read moreWhile passing through Covington, the dashboard lights on my van started flashing and the engine began surging. I exited I-20 and prayed God would get me safely somewhere with people who could help me. That place was Advance Auto Parts, and the people were the manager, Christine, one of her employees, and her mechanic friend, Tom, AKA Shanky.
The accelerator pedal had stopped working, but God pushed my car into a parking place just seconds before the car completely died. What had been a sprinkle turned into a downpour right at that moment. I needed a new alternator, but Christine's store didn't have my model in stock. Her amazing employee was willing to drive to the next town in the rain to get one at another Advance location. While he made that trip for us, Christine called her mechanic friend, Tom, whom she called Shanky. She explained to him that I was from out of town and needed his help and he came to install the new alternator.
While it poured, Tom persevered to loosen every tight bolt. I stood beside him trying to keep him dry with my umbrella, but we both were drenched. At one point, he dropped a tool and couldn't reach it. He had to jack up the car and remove a tire so he could lay in a puddle and retrieve it.
Tom successfully replaced the alternator and tested my electrical system to ensure I had no other issues to address. Tom and Christine and her other employee went so far above and beyond for me and I am so grateful!! We called the previous day asking for a very specfic part, including giving the associate the part number from your web site. The associate said that none were in stock but the part could be ordered the next day by 10:30am. We arrived at 10:40am and were informed no order had been placed but the part was in stock, purchased the part and upon trying to install the part realized we were sold the wrong one. We attempted to contact the store to find out if the part we actually needed was in stock and the associate put us on hold for 15 minuites and never got back on the line. We hung up and drove back to the store. The associate, Queneshia M., was very attitudinal and not very knowledgeable or helpful. Finally we were able to make the exchange.
