Michaels — Local services in Cranberry Township

Walked into the store at 5:29pm (closes at 6pm) and I’ve never felt more uncomfortable. We were not greeted with a hello… we were greeted with “we close in 30 minutes for Memorial Day..” fast forward 10 minutes when my husband needed help with something- The store employee Josephine came back and 1. Did not help us but instead asked us if we read her sign… so then she smartly decided to read the 2 paragraph sign that said the frame lady wasn’t there today 2. Let us know they close at 6pm….. someone walked past a solid 4 minutes later and said “we close in 20 minutes.”

My daughter who’s 4 had to go to the bathroom (we still had time don’t worry).. there was a “slippery floor” sign up. We went to the bathroom and still had time to spare.. we were walking out and Josephine said rudely “the bathrooms are closed!!” I was very very confused as there was nothing showing that the bathroom was closed what so ever. I told her that I didn’t feel very welcome in the store and her response was “we close in 15 minutes for Memorial Day.”

Will never return back there. And just in case anyone is wondering.. They close at 6pm on...

I stopped by Michael's just to pick up some picture frames and I had received a 60% off coupon through their mobile app which I really enjoy. Their frame selection was excellent; I had trouble narrowing down my pick and their prices were very reasonable. However, I couldn't resist all their holiday decorations which were 50-60% off. They always have various sized fabric patterned boxes which make wrapping presents a breeze- put in some tissue paper; add present; put lid on. ( My kind of wrapping). I ended up purchasing a lot more than I planned. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to use my on line coupon because I forgot to print it out, but they just scanned it right from my phone. They also had 3 registers open so there was no long waiting in line and the sales assistants were very friendly and efficient. Since this was a Tues morning I was really surprised they were so adequately staffed, but pleased. The Cranberry Mall has both a Michael's and a JoAnn but I always shop at Michael's due to their service and selection ( unless I need fabric which is only available at JoAnns ). Employees have the worst attitudes. They despise blowing up balloons. One employee told me another employee would "deal with me" because she saw a had a bag of balloons in my hand. FWIW, I was getting less than 20 balloons blown up and didn't want to pick them up until way later in the day. I wasn't demanding they needed filled that moment. I called ahead and wasn't told there was a size restriction on balloons so I had to dig into the stash of extra balloons I brought in case some popped while they were being blown up. Since the plan changed my husband took a few more in to be blown up when he picked those up - he was also met with the same poor attitudes. It makes you feel very uncomfortable. I'll be sure to exhaust every other option I can in the future for everything before spending money in that store. Another important note, one balloon blew off before my husband got home and flew through the air like it hadn't been tied shut and less than 6 hours later when I went into my kitchen the balloons were all deflated anyway.
