I really wanted to love this place but it sadly was not meant to be! We stopped here because we saw something about the place on FB and it seemed like it would be amazing! Unfortunately there were a few problems.
the women's bathroom smelled disgusting! Yes, I understand what bathrooms are for and that maybe I just got unlucky and walked in after someone blew it out....however, there was no spray or fan or even one of those automatic scent spray things most restaurants use. According to my husband the men's bathroom smelled like scented urinal cake which would have been much better.
I ordered the Plane Jane taco. Just 1 as I wasn't sure if I wanted 2 of those or to try the brisket. I figured I'd eat this one then decide on taco #2. I picked the PJ because I don't really like spicy things as much as my husband but I didn't expect it to be hot as both salsa's we tried were on the mild side.
Not only was I wrong as the chicken had a ton of spice on it, but the shell was covered in salt! It was supposed to be ranch, and I normally like ranch dust on stuff, but this was half salt in the mix! I couldn't eat it, that's how much salt was on the shell. I tried to eat the insides but it was too spicy, so I decided to not order another taco.
She did look down at it, but then turned to my husband without saying a word about all that food being left behind. Not great service right there. I still tipped 20% because I figured she's just used to people not eating the food there and if though she didn't ask, it's but her fault I didn't like it!
Otherwise, our server was nice and answered our questions about the menu thoroughly though when my husband asked the person who ran out our chips and salsa a question about the salsa she said and I quote " I don't know I don't eat the salsa here" LMAO Seems weird that she wouldn't know every single thing about the menu but maybe they're more lax here on menu knowledge?
The decor was cute as can be and my husband said it was hand painted which is seriously impressive and I hope it's true as it's a great way to showcase amazing artists and decorate in a fun way. You can spend hours looking at all the pictures, there's just so many different scenes!
Everybody that worked here was nice and pleasant and it would probably be great for margaritas in the summer with those big garage doors open!
We won't be back and that's ok, every place isn't for every person...or couple! My oldest son will probably love the place though so we'll still send him their way. Hopefully the food runner learns about salsa by then as he's into trying all different types...
Read moreWe went here for my husband's birthday. I'm allergic to gluten so we chose a place with gluten free options. We also specifically were looking for outdoor seating as several people in our party are autoimmune and need to eat outdoors. We asked for outside seating. They told us to wait outside and someone would seat us and wipe the rain off the tables. After waiting a long time we checked with the front desk who then said the restaurant does not have outdoor servers and that we would have to order online and take the food to the tables without wait staff. So we decided to order from our car since all their tables were wet and clearly wouldn't be wiped down. The app didn't work well. We ended up going back to the front desk and ordering to go. After a long time we got our six tacos and nachos. Opened the tacos in the car and only two tacos were correct. Went back inside to have four tacos remade. After a very long time we got the new tacos. Took the new tacos to the car (instead of being able to sit outside at their tables) and two of the four tacos were not correct. We gave up. Not the best experience. I wouldn't recommend the nachos. They were pretty hard and tough to chew. The tacos tasted pretty good but not for that price as they are small tacos which didn't make anyone feel full. For almost $7 a taco you would expect a larger taco. All in all that was probably one of the worst birthday lunches we have had. We're glad for the gluten free vegan options, but the service was not the best and they screwed up our food...
Read moreFirst timers will return. I stopped here for lunch solely based on the reviews coupled with the need for a quicker lunch.
I came here with my husband and 1 year old on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant is in a plaza with other businesses and the parking was plenty.
We were immediately seated and requested indoor dining. I immediately noticed all the fun, colorful, and creative artwork on the walls. I next saw the huge garage doors that were open with screens that allowed the fresh breeze to pass through. I loved the atmosphere and most importantly we were greeted kindly and had a pleasant waitress.
We asked for a few suggestions on different items to order and went with the dirty chicken queso (spicy sauce in the side) served with homemade chips, 2 blue dream beef tacos (on the spicer side), Korean bbq, and another taco that I can’t recall the name. After getting our tacos I realized that there wasn’t anything my one year old could eat so I ordered a soft shell chicken taco with cheese and tomatoes and that was a hit. The chicken alone was very tender and flavorful - if a basic taco can taste good, there’s hope for all the combinations and I can’t wait to go back and try other food options.
The tacos were fairly priced at $5/taco. The service was quick. The entire establishment was clean and orderly. I loved that their tables had purse/bag hooks - loved that!
I recommend visiting this and trying a few different tacos - build your own or off the menu. The chicken is a safe option for anyone that can’t...
