My wife frequents this place often. You can buy the same Old Navy clothes at any location, so what differentiates one location from another? Customer service. Normally, bad customer service is the exception and not the rule. Here, during the afternoon shift on weekdays after work, my wife consistently deals with a sales associate who is not polite and, worse, unable to process certain types of returns and even exchanges out of either confusion or lack of training. For instance, she doesn't even understand the concept of exchanging the same jean in a different length for the sale price of the originally purchased (and returning) jean, and will say that it's impossible to make the price adjustment on on the second jean that's being kept (because it was not purchased on sale like the original). That's a pretty basic retail concept to grasp and handle appropriately. You'd also like to think there is a store manager that is a regular presence up front who monitors these issues and is proactive. Instead, he's regularly hiding in the back and only when my wife or other customers insist on additional help (or when this sales associate finally relents and asks) does he show up to fix the issue, which normally results in a lost of wasted time for my wife, this sales associate, and other waiting customers. That he doesn't seem to care about re-training this particular employee, or that he does and she continues to show an inability to grasp basic concepts, or display a bare minimum of congenial professionalism, is really an indictment. It isn't that hard to properly run a corporate chain that deals in high volume like Old Navy. They run themselves and everything about the experience should be easy and unremarkable. That this sales associate and manager stick out like sore thumbs should be embarrassing to Old...
Read moreI was at the cranberry, pa. location on 08/30/19 at 8:50pm to get better sizes for the school clothes i purchased for my 9 year old daughter. All i needed was store credit to switch the sizes and be on my way. The clothes were in the original packaging, had tags and everything, not even tried on. Well the first lady couldnt swap the order unless i had the credit card it was purchased on? i had the email confirmation, id, everything. it was my wifes card. i read the return policy before i even drove 45 minutes out of my way to verify this. she said since i didnt have my credit card she could only give me what the clothes are worth that day. a shirt i purchased for 20 was now .97? and that was the only alternative she gave me. i told her to pack the items up and i went outside and called the number on the return label. The rep asked if i would go back inside and speak the the manager, so i did. this manager couldnt have been any older than 18. if she was knowledgeable it wouldnt have been an issue, but she clearly showed her age. but the second the live rep hung up with me, the manager assumed her position on being unprofessional. didnt say thank you, didnt apologize foir the inconvenience, or anything. Custyomer service offered me a 20 gift car, wow. ill be mailing that back out to you guys when i receive it. its a shame you guys have these little snot kids treating people anyway they wont too. oh! it was 8:50pm when i arrived. the big old navy sign was off, and there wasnt any customers inside. apparently they were trying to make it look like they were closed? This was a friday night, mind you. I. will. never. step foot in that high school...
Read moreI went to Old Navy to buy a couple of shirts. When I reached the counter, a lady asked me if I had an Old Navy card. I told her that my wife has one and asked if I could use hers. She said I could enter the SSN, and after doing that, I’d get an extra 20% discount. I agreed and decided to pick up more items to take advantage of the offer.
I spent about an hour shopping and selected items worth around $400. When I returned to the counter, there was a different lady — this time, a manager. She scanned everything and then asked for my ID to verify the SSN. I explained that it’s under my wife’s name, but she said my wife needed to be there in person and that they couldn’t proceed otherwise.
I told her that the previous employee had said it could be done, and asked if there was any other way, but she said no. I ended up leaving all the clothes and walking out, feeling frustrated that I had wasted my time because of inconsistent information from...
